Garland was a member of United States Colonial Marine Corps. She was part of a 31-Marine platoon under the command of Captain Paget, aboard the combat ship Hasdrubal that landed on the planet LV-797 under investigation of potential asset-strippers.
Upon patrolling the planet, she was ambushed and killed by the Cracked Tusk Predator.
Biography
Garland was part of the combat ship Hasdrubal on a mission to prosecute any potential illegal prospectors on the planet, LV-797, nicknamed Tartarus. The Hasdrubal was serving the interests of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, which had scheduled the planet for terraforming.
Upon landing on the planet, the platoon was split into two squads, with Garland accompanying Captain Paget's squad. After encountering a Seegson excavation site, Garland and fellow Marines Chimo and Herrman were ordered by Paget to "sweep" the area.
Death
During their patrol, Chimo was constantly irritated by the planet's insects that kept on stinging him, with Garland joking that they liked the taste of him. She suddenly pointed out that Chimo seemed to be getting bright spots from his stings. As Herrman took a closer look, it was revealed that they were the targeting laser of a Predator Plasmacaster. Chimo's head was suddenly blown to pieces. Garland and Herrman begin firing aimlessly into the wilderness. After a brief pause, Herrman noticed that Garland may have wounded the attacker, seeing its blood sprayed against leaves. The assailant, the Cracked Tusk Predator, suddenly emerged from behind Garland and impaled her with its Wristblades. Cracked Tusk, alongside the Hive Wars Predator, swiftly moved onto Herrman and killed him shortly afterwards.
