Yung was a Smartgun operator with the United States Colonial Marine Corps. He was part of a 31-Marine platoon under the command of Captain Paget, aboard the combat ship Hasdrubal that landed on the planet LV-797, kick-starting a massive series of events that led to an all out battle for survival against a clan of Yautja, mutated Xenomorphs and the godlike Engineers.
Yung was later killed in a Xenomorph ambush following a rescue mission to retrieve Chris Hanlock from a Xenomorph hive.
Biography
Yung was part of the combat ship Hasdrubal on a mission to prosecute any potential illegal prospectors on the planet, LV-797, nicknamed Tartarus. The Hasdrubal was serving the interests of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, which had scheduled the planet for terraforming.
After the Marines landed on Tartarus, they were soon attacked by a clan of Yautja, who were protecting a recently discovered Engineer Juggernaut, resulting in devastating losses. Eventually, the Marines managed to lift the ship, with Singer intending to send it to the nearest USCM facility, Ganymede Station. Yung was presumably part of Paget's squad during the mission.
The squad returned to the Hasdrubal, but were forced to follow the Juggernaut for six days to an unspecified destination after an Engineer, unbeknownst to them had awoken within the ship and taken control of it. After landing on LV-223 and picking up Sergeant Roth's squad, who had previously infiltrated the Juggernaut, Roth confirmed to the Marines that fellow survivor Chris Hanlock had been left behind on the moon, and wanted to return. As a result, Paget organised an operation to rescue Chris, to which Yung volunteered for.
Death

The squad landed back on LV-223 and began exploring the terrain, before Chris' wife, Jill suddenly picked up her signal. Following the revelation that Chris was impregnated with a Queen, Yung and the squad were ambushed by a horde of Xenos, and later the Second Engineer, which had awoken to purge all life on the planet. Yung hid within nearby thickets and attempted to inform Paget on the remaining squad's situation, but was suddenly pounced on by a Xenomorph and promptly headbitten.
Trivia
- Despite having a practically non-existent role in the comics, concept art was still revealed of him in Predator: Life and Death #3, although he himself does not actually appear within the issue itself.
