"The multiverse has a way of aligning fates...It's written in the stars and in this book, or I wouldn't know that on this Earth, Clark Kent is Superman. Where I come from, that would be ridiculous. He can't see past his glasses." This article is about the location set in the Lucifer universe. This article only contains information relevant to the Arrowverse. For information regarding that universe, please see Universe. |
- "Johnny. I'd like to say it's a pleasure to see you on my Earth outside my club. It's not. Hello. Don't believe we've met. Lucifer Morningstar."
- —Lucifer Morningstar[src]
Earth-666 was one of many universes in the original multiverse. It is one of the few known worlds to have been remade in the new multiverse; with the universe being effectively restored to exactly the way it had been pre-Crisis.[1]
History
At some point prior to the Anti-Monitor Crisis, John Constantine traveled to this Earth and helped Lucifer Morningstar with a problem he had with Maze.[2]
Anti-Monitor Crisis
A few years later, John Constantine returned to this Earth with Mia Smoak and John Diggle briefly while trying to restore Oliver Queen's soul to his body following the latter's resurrection via a Lazarus Pit.[2]
Some time later, Earth-666 was destroyed by antimatter during the Anti-Monitor Crisis.[2]
When the Paragons and the Spectre created the new multiverse, a new universe was created, which is said to be essentially identical to this universe.[1]

Behind the scenes
- This Earth's designation is likely a reference to the number of the beast out of the sea in Revelation 13.
- Although 666 is generally believed to have been the original Number of the Beast in the Book of Revelation in the Christian Bible, in 2005, a fragment of papyrus 115 was discovered, containing the earliest known version of that part of the Book of Revelation discussing the Number of the Beast. It gave the number as 616; suggesting that this may have been the original. However, there is much debate amongst biblical scholars regarding which of these is the correct number. One possible explanation for the two different numbers is that they reflect two different spellings of Emperor Nero/Neron's name, for which (according to this theory) this number is believed to be a code.
- DC Comics exists in the Lucifer universe.
- In the season 2 episode "Candy Morningstar", Lucifer is shocked that Chloe Decker fired him, saying they're like a "dynamic duo" and "you wouldn't split up Batman and Robin." This seems to confirm Batman and Robin exist as fictional characters in this universe.
- Likewise, billboards for Supergirl appeared in a few Lucifer episodes.
- In the season 3 episode "Welcome Back, Charlotte Richards", Chloe Decker's daughter Trixie said she lost the lasso to her Wonder Woman doll.
- Watchmen, another DC series, also exists within the Lucifer universe.
- Unlike Supergirl, however, the Watchmen universe has not been shown to exist elsewhere in the Arrowverse multiverse.
- This is one of multiple cases of a series being a work of fiction in one universe while actually taking place in another, with events that happened on Earth-89 being a film in Earth-90's universe. Another example is the fact that Superman, Supergirl, and Vixen are implied to be fictional characters on Earth-TUD5, while each of them have been shown to actually exist in some other universes (respectively Earth-38 and Earth-1) within the multiverse.
