KPz T-55A is an East German variant of the Soviet T-55A.
History
Like their Soviet counterparts, T-55A served in the Panzer Division Panzer Regiment's three battalions along divsional Motorisierte-Schützen Regiment's Panzer battalion before being replaced by more modern T-55 and T-72. T-55 also served in the Panzer battalions of the motorisierte Schützendivision were equipped with T-55 along with 7. Panzer which had some of their Panzer battalions equipped with T-55. East Germany received T-55 from Czechoslovakia between 1964 and 1980 and Poland between 1965 and 1973.
Overview

Like the Soviet T-55A, this unit has a nice playable model, but not characteristics. Like his Soviet comrade, he plays the role of the player's last hope for the early restoration of the front line. It cannot be relied on as a tank, it will most likely be happy to become a kind of "Fire Support Vehicle" for motorized riflemen left without cover for equipment or as a forest scout.
Kpz. T-55A as "FSV"

We must not forget that the main advantage of the tank is still its gun. Despite poor mobility, range of fire and armor, for most Armored Personnel Carriers and Infantry Fighting Vehicles, it still remains a rather difficult target and this is what you can use. Since in the GDR, not all infantry units have BMP-1 or BMP-2, and even in the case of these vehicles during the battle, the infantry remains without cover for armored vehicles, which significantly reduces its combat effectiveness. It is in such a situation that the Kpz.T-55A helps us become the cheapest and at the same time effective option for supporting the infantry.
