The HN-5A (Chinese: 红缨, meaning "Red Tassel) is a Chinese Anti-Aircraft Team that appears in Wargame: Red Dragon.
History
The Pinyin of 红缨 is Hóng Yīng, so the weapon may also be referred to as HY-5 in certain situations.
The base model of HN-5 is a reverse-engineered copy of Soviet Strela-2 (9K32/SA-7 Grail), its development started in 1975 (production started in 1977), and it first appeared in the National Day parade in 1984.
HN-5A was a copy of Strela-2M given to China by the North Vietnam. The HN-5A is currently only equipped in the AAA regiments of PLA second-line motorized infantry divisions (brigades) with small quantities, as well as militia and reserve units.
Overview
Although it is one of the cheapest units in the game, it hardly plays any role in battles.
- The range of 2100 meters is equivalent to that of helicopter rocket pods, which means that the helicopters have full counterattack power.
- The Accuracy is only 30%, while the 70mm rockets from NATO helicopters can wipe this team out with just one hit.
- More importantly, its HE Power is only 3, meaning that it requires two hits to shoot down even the reconnaissance helicopter.
