Smug is a minor antagonist of the last episodes in the third season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He was a male Trandoshan hunter who killed for sport on the planet Wasskah. During the Clone Wars, a member of his guild kidnapped a Jedi Padawan named Ahsoka Tano and took her to Wasskah to hunt, but the guild was unsuccessful in their attempts to kill her and led to the deaths of many Trandoshans. Although, Smug was one of three Trandoshan survivors of the battle.
He was voiced by Jeff Anderson.
Biography
Before 20 BBY, Gilas was apart of a Trandoshan hunting guild which hunted animals or people for sport. He didn't have a job for the guild, although he was a very good sniper.
In 20 BBY, Garnac dispatched a group of five contestants onto the planet Wasskah for the guild to hunt, one being a Jedi Padawan named Ahsoka Tano. While Ahsoka and two other contestants escaped death, Ahsoka then met up with a group of lost Jedi younglings who were dispatched on the island prior to 20 BBY.
The next day, when the sun rose up, Garnac then proclaimed that a new day has begun, and all the Trandoshans cheered and walked out of the base to kill some more contestants. Smug then went out to kill some more contestants, but didn't find any kills.
During the same day after Garnac's son, Dar, was killed by Ahsoka Tano, Smug then waited on the shore of Wasskah to snipe Ahsoka Tano after she destroyed the Trandoshan ship that carried in the contestants. Just before Smug was able to kill Ahsoka, O-Mer and Jinx, two of the Jedi who were stuc on Island Four of Wasskah, then defeated Smug in a short fight. Chewbacca, a prisoner Ahsoka rescued, was about to kill the beast. But Ahsoka told him not to, for they could use him as a hostage.
The next day, Jinx then used a mind trick on Smug to call for a hover pod to come and pick him up. As Smug stood there, Krix then arrived to pick up the lost Trandoshan. But before getting aboard, Ahsoka, Jinx, and O-Mer then attacked Krix and left him and Smug on Island Four as they flew up to the Trandoshan base to defeat Garnac. While we know that Krix and Ramy both lived to tell the tale, it is unknown what ever happened to Smug.
