Ratri is a minor antagonist of the anime and manga series Black Clover. He is a member of the Elf Tribe that were massacred by the humans centuries ago before getting reincarnated into Langris Vaude, a magic knight.
He is voiced by Kaito Ishikawa in Japanese.
Personality
Because of witnessing the massacre with his fellow elves, Ratri deeply hates humanity that mainly causes him to display a obnoxious behaviour against humans unlike his past self when he was seen to be a much more humble and nice of a person before the massacre. According to Ratri, he defined himself as a twisted person. Like many of the other elves, because of Ratri’s large mana pool, he easily looks down on humans in constrast to them. During his battle against the Black Bull, as he was corned the squad’s magic knights, he begins to contains himself with hatred to humanity at full, resulting him to turn into a Dark Elf while he loses his last sanity and screaming how curses about humans. This rage led him to destroy everything around him as he loses his mind.
Biography
Centuries ago before the start of the main story, Ratri along with her other elves fellow were massacred during the wedding of their leader Licht by humans. In the present, the head of the Midnight Sun Patolli activates the sephirot with the magic stones collected in which he causes majority magic knights to be possessed by the elves for their revenge.Once taken control of his host’s body, he slashes a building in half before joining the other possessed magic knights of the Golden Dawn. Ratri guides his allies to the castle of the Cover Kingdom. They are soon after confronted by the guards at the entry of the castle who blocks them. Ratri creates anopening path for the rest to infiltrate the castle.
A few of the elves stays behind to deal with the guards as Ratri continues his path with the rest of the elves following behind. Arriving at the throne room, he lauche an attack at Ledior Vaude. The human tries to counter the attack but is not strong enough. Then the king Augustus Kira Clover XIII makes an attempt to attack the elf but easily counters it, in which he destroys the king’s spell then his crown and throne behind. Finesse Calmreich then tries to stop Ratri’s action but gets thrown away by him. Finral Roulacase enters the room in a panick to protect the woman from the elf’s to land his attack on her. Yami Sukerhiro and Jack the Ripper, two magic knight captains arrives. They surrounder the elf but are being pushed back by his his magic’s defensive mechanism.
Finral makes his way to save the king which Ratri tries to stop him but his attacks gets counterered by Jack who lauches his magic.A few of the elf’s attack barely hit Augustus as they instead hit the breach the throne and the wall. Irritated with all of his failed to murder any humans, he lauches his next attack that was too powerful for Finral’s magic to handle, leaving no choices but for Yami to invade Ratri’s attacks. With Yami’s turn, his attack sent are blocked by the elf and almost gets gravely injured but is saved by Finral. Throughout the fight, Ratri’s magic began to make Jack’s magic to be adapted to the elf’s spells. Along with Yami, the captains manage to break Ratri’s defensive magic.
However, they are soon attacked by another wave of the elf’s magic that blows the captains away. Next, the elf tries to focus on Finral. He succeeds on gravely injuring his body, but is again interrupted when he warps Yami and Jack in front of Ratri. Jack takes care of Ratri’s attacks by cutting through them and Yami is able to land his spell, Dark Cloaked Avidya Blunt Stike on Ratri’s nape. The elf however was able to hold from being knocked out by the attack. Yami’s spell however land severe damages on the elf, resulting him to go out in a rampage to destroy structures around him.
With the temporary short amount of time, Finral takes this opportunity to warp the elf and send a final blow to his possessed brother, knocking him out unconscious. Yami then restrains the defeated elf. With all the other elves defeated, their soul are now removed, leaving their hosts free form the possession. Licht and the captain of the Golden Dawn William Vangeance cast their spell together for the elves to be connected in the tree that gets send by Asta with his magic.
