~ Omni-Mark to Veil Mark

Markus Sebastian "Mark" Grayson, also known Invincible or "Omni-Mark" is a supporting antagonist in the Image Comics series Invincible, and its animated adaptation of the same name.

In his dimension, he would murder his own father and take his identity, wearing an Omni-Man color scheme suit. He would fight in the Invincible War, but his comic and show counterparts would have very different outcomes.

The comic counterpart would fight ShadowHawk and Madman, but ultimately die. His other counterpart would help Veil Mark in a 2v2 against Main Mark and Atom Eve. end up being one of the lucky 8 of the Alternate Marks who survive to Day 3 but get stranded in the wasteland.

He is voiced by Steven Yeun, who also played all the other Alternate Mark Graysons, A. Traveler in The Twilight Zone, Ricky "Jupe" Park in Nope and Danny Cho in Beef.

Biography

Background

Mark was born with Viltrumite powers, and exclusively trained by Nolan, going through hordes of training, and became ready enough to help the empire.

It is believed that Omni-Mark worshiped Nolan so much and wanted to be just like him. Eventually, he would end up killing Nolan and take his name and color scheme.

Invincible War

Omni-Mark would be recruited by Angstrom Levy to go to the main universe and tarnish the name "Invincible" there.

From this point on, Omni-Mark will have very different outcomes.

Comic Counterpart

Comic Omni-Mark isn't shown much, but he would fight ShadowHawk and Madman on Day 2 of the Invincible War. After a long unseen fight, Mark would ultimately die by getting his neck broken by Madman's yo-yo and end his reign of terror.

Show Counterpart

On Day 2, Show Omni-Mark would go help Veil Mark deal with the Mainstream Mark and Atom Eve. Veil Mark told him to go f*ck himself and said he's got it, but Omni-Mark help anyway and told him "swearing doesn't make you cool." The two Marks would have an intense 2v2, with Omni-Mark charging at Eve but stopped by Main Mark. The three Marks would fight for a short while, getting thrown around by the cape and being flung into an exploding building. At the end, Omni-Mark would charge at Eve again and manage to break her leg, nearly tearing it off and rendering her unconscious. He would tell Main Mark that he can't both save Eve and fight the two Marks at the same time. In the end, a horde of ReAnimen are sent into the battlefield and hold off the two while Main Mark escapes with Eve. Off-screen, Omni-Mark survives the ReAnimen and would lay waste to Tokyo later.

Show Omni-Mark would make it to the surviving 8 where him and the other survivors would meet at the Grayson Household, which he hates revisiting. Angstrom would then arrive to the scene and congratulate the Marks on the job they did, stating how the people of the main dimension will fear and hate Invincible because of their doings. Angstrom then ordered to bring Mark to him in person, but Sinister Mark would refuse this order and spark a mutiny. Angstrom, disappointed, would send them to the wasteland dimension to starve and cannibalize each other.

Trivia

  • Omni-Mark in the show would replace Black Knee-Pad Mark, the strange one who suddenly appeared on Day 3 and was the one who leveled Tokyo instead.
  • Omni-Mark's comic counterpart would be ridiculed because of how he ironically dies to a yo-yo while claiming to have killed Omni-Man. His animated counterpart, however, was one of the eight surviving alternate Invincibles left.
