Master Kusho is a character in the League of Legends universe that serves as the overarching antagonist of the Zed comic book series
He was once the leader of the Kinkou order, Father of Shen and master of Zed. Once a believer in spiritual balance after faking his death to lead the Navori Brotherhood he would be corrupted by his own lust for power, unleashing Khada Jhin upon Ionia the hopes of use the chaos to gain control of the country
Biography
Background
The current leader of the Kinkou Order, formed to keep balance in the physical and spiritual realm, mainly against demons, Kusho had a son named Shen that was part of the order. Finding a young servant boy named Govos, Kusho would have him spar against Shen and when he won fight against Shen Kusho took him in as his student, later giving him the name Usan.
Tasked with hunting a supposed Golden Demon terrorizing Ionia , Kusho along with Shen and Usan would discover this demon to simply be staghand by the name Khada Jhin. When captured Kusho would push for him to be imprisoned instead of killed like Usan wanted. Usan becoming disillusioned would former the Order of Shadow under the new name Zed and go to Master Kusho, making a deal with him. They would fake his death and have him lead the Militant Navori Brotherhood group in the shadows, to maintain order in Ionia.
Zed comics
Becoming corrupted by a lust for power and control of his country Kusho would freed Khada Jhin from Prison, having him attack Cites across Ionia to stir fear into the people and unite Ionia under his control to invade foreign nations he intended to blame for the attacks. Intending to have short civil war to put down anyone who opposed his plans. When Jhin was defeated he was confronted by Zed on his plans with Kusho attempting to manipulate Kayn, Zed's right hand, into betraying him only for Kayn to reaffirm his loyalty to Zed. Tapping into the full power of Shadow magic Kusho would attempt to kill Zed while taunting him about his past failures only for Zed with his superior control of the Shadows to overwhelm Kusho and kill him for good.
Personality
Before his fall Kusho seemed to be kind and pacstific man, believing in maintaining spiritual balance and rejecting the extremisms of his student Zed. However in reality Kusho always held a dark side, believing n sacrificing the few for the many, which is why he went along with Zed's plan to fake his own death. Losing any noble qualities over time Kusho would simply desire power and control at all costs, with elitist views viewing the deaths of peasants to not be worth caring about. Even viewing his own son Shen as weak and not caring if Jhin killed him. Despite regarding Zed as his true son he takes great delight in tormenting him over his past failures, attempting to convince him that he has chosen to walk in darkness of his own volition
