Biography
A Game of Thrones
After Khal Drogo's khalasar raided and enslaved a Lhazareen settlement, Mago and several other Dothraki, began taking turns raping a girl named Eroeh, who was captured during the raid. Daenerys Targaryen, Drogo's Khaleesi, who was disturbed by the scenes of rape, wanted to protect the girl. Jhogo, one of her guards, moved in to intervene, Mago and the other rapists laughed at him and when one of them shouts back at him, Jhogo beheads him, causing the rapists, Mago among them, to leave in anger. One rapist, the second to rape Eroeh, defiantly refused to leave, causing Ser Jorah Mormont to pull him from the girl and the rapist was then killed by Aggo, one of Khal Drogo's bloodriders.
Because Daenerys had deprived him of his rape victim, Mago complains to Drogo about it, but the latter defends Daenerys' claim of Eroeh and dismisses Mago, telling him to look for another victim elsewhere. As he had been wounded from a fight against a rival Khal, Ogo and his son Fogo, as the respective khalasars of Drogo and Ogo met each other at the town and ended up fighting over its spoils, the wound became infected, causing Drogo to fall ill and his now-weakening condition caused him to fall off his horse. This symbolic sign of weakness caused Jhaqo one of his bloodriders, to declare himself khal and he names Mago as one of his bloodriders.
Following Mirri Maz Duur's bloodmagic rite on Drogo, which left him in a vegetative state, and while Daenerys remained unconscious for days, Drogo's khalasar started splitting into multiple (but smaller khalasars), as their khal at this point was as good as dead. To spite Daenerys, Mago takes back Eroeh and rapes her before giving the girl to Khal Jhaqo, who also raped her before handing her over to his other bloodriders, who did the same thing, and once they finished, they slit her throat. Awakening after fully recovering, Daenerys learns from Jhogo of Eroeh's fate. Furious, she swore vengeance on both Mago and Jhaqo, swearing that they would die screaming.
The Winds of Winter
Despite Mago's long absence throughout most of the novel series, it was confirmed by George R.R. Martin that Mago is still alive and would make a return in the upcoming sixth novel, though what role he would play in is currently unknown.
