Thear (スーア Sūa?) is a human from Celestia, and the captain of the Earth's Defense Force.
Appearance
Thear has a lean but masculine body. His hair is blue and styled in a pompadour, and he wears goggles and a yellow-black full body suit.
Personality
Even though Celestia's residents are already elitist, Thear brings it to another level. He considers his world to be the most advanced and doesn't hesitate to call other worlds' people as "monkeys" and "ape". This also extends to him believing Madalans are the most dangerous in all aspects. Despite his superior complex, he still has compassion for fellow humans, notably when he doesn't want to use satellites on the Lawless. He also adheres to rules, as seen when he makes sure the reduced satellites output protocol is followed.
Plot
Introduction Arc
Thear is present alongside Jupit, Muun and humans from other worlds during the initial meeting. There, he introduces their natural enemy and ridicules Hallow for suggesting to make natural enemies fight each other.[1][2] After Zaybi's provocation, he is the loudest to glaze their natural enemy, Aliens, before being stopped and called childish by Zaybi.[3] He then asks for the specific details of the plan and is dumbfounded when Zaybi doesn't have one.[4] He concurs when Glasp concludes to wait out as a compromise.[5]
Titans vs The Neo-Humans Arc
Thear is astonished to find out an elite fighter like Jupit could fall in battle.[6]
Demons vs Aliens Arc
Glasp questions Thear about their weapon in space and their hesitance to use it. Thear explains the risk of the Madalans coming, even at lowered output. He is mad at Glasp's conclusion to use it at maximum power but ultimately follows.[7] Once the Madalans arrive, he inquires Glasp about the next steps and mocks Glasp's lack of strategy. Thear proclaims how Aliens will annihilate everyone after they show their power.[8][9] When asked for a place to teleport to, he claims Celestia is not feasible and Land of the Lawless is like a beach resort.[10]
Demon Lord Arc
Thear is passed a Cosmic Rifle by Muun to rescue the slave girl. He shoots the Lawless and claims they possess no threat while being disgusted by constant disasters. As he moves closer, he is warned by Cartel not to go closer.[11] Thear stays at the frontline to make the stand against the Lawless approaching and asks other worlds to provide assistance. When Masayoshi suggests using the satellites, he hesitates and comes up with a sloppy lie to avoid the proposal.[12]
Current Arc
Four days later, with Samone's help, Thear installs a portable solar generator to provide them electricity. He thanks her, telling that her strength rivals heavy machinery. Thear explains to Glasp that the generator was created during his world's space development era and can produce enough electricity for daily needs. Glasp notes it can also supply power to their weapons, thanking Thear, who casually calls it give and take.
Zaybi soon arrives, commenting that they seem well-settled. He mentions the Lawless haven't attacked since their last encounter and suggests forming an alliance with them, as they are also humans. Then Iglay appears, calling them naïve. She suddenly presses a knife to Zaybi's neck, warning Glasp and Thear not to move. Iglay claims that a third of the refugees are Lawless, and they were only waiting for the rest of them to drop their guards.
Thear and Glasp feel betrayed - Thear reflecting on how the team had just started to trust each other. But Iglay then reveals the knife is just a toy from the Disastrous Metropolis' kids. Furious, Thear yells at her, demanding to know how she could joke about something like that.[13]
