Jupit

Jupit (ジュピート Jupīto?) was a human from Celestia, and the second lieutenant of the Earth's Defense Force.

Appearance

Jupit's physique was lean yet strong. His hair was cropped close to the scalp, enhancing his streamlined appearance. Adorning his eyes were a pair of sleek goggles, and he was clad in a seamless bodysuit that hugged his form from neck to toe, complemented by form-fitting boots and gloves that completed his aerodynamic look.

Personality

Initially, Jupit maintained a reserved presence, often observing in silence. However, as the mission to reroute the Titans toward the Neo-Humans unfolded, Jupit's demeanor was laced with condescension for those he perceived as intellectually inferior. As a second lieutenant, he took great pride in his abilities, yet it was this very hubris, this dismissive overconfidence, that blinded him to the true might of the titans — a fatal oversight that ultimately brought about his premature end.

Plot

Introduction Arc

Jupit participates in the meeting with Thear, Muun and the other humans, although, he remains silent and observant.[1]

Titans vs The Neo-Humans Arc

Jupit volunteers to join the Titan-Herding Team,[2] tasked with diverting the titans away from Humanity's Fortress and toward the city of the Neo-Humans. The encounter with the titans turns tragic when Korbo is killed. Yet, Jupit remains silent throughout the meeting. The situation deteriorates, resulting in the deaths of Shoks and Shigeru. It's then that Jupit declares any attempt at dialogue with the "savages" futile. Ascending with the "Cosmic Ring", he soars over the titans, denouncing them as "primitive monkeys" and commands an orbiting artificial satellite to target the titans with laser beams. The titans reel under the scorching assault, and Jupit believes his strategy is succeeding. Yet, his misjudgment of the titans' resilience proves fatal when one titan leaps skyward, ending Jupit's defiance as effortlessly as swatting a fly.[3]

Upon learning of Jupit's demise, Thear is struck with disbelief. The captain finds it inconceivable that Jupit, renowned for his exceptional combat skills, could meet such an end.[4]

Abilities

Jupit was an ordinary human, with no special abilities to give him an upper hand in battle. However, he had access to his world's advanced technology, and was regarded as an elite fighter in the Earth's Defense Force.[4] Despite this, he was ultimately defeated by the titans.

Equipment

  • Artificial Satellite: Jupit had access to orbiting artificial satellites.[5][6]
    • Cosmic Laser: By accessing an artificial satellite, Jupit utilized one to fire intense, concentrated laser beams at the titans. However, this strategy proved ineffective against their formidable resilience.[5]
  • Cosmic Ring: Jupit wielded a jetpack-like device, enabling him to glide through the air.[7]
