Seungmin (승민 seungmin) was born on September 22, 2000 (age 24) in Seoul, South Korea. He is a vocalist of the boygroup Stray Kids.[2]

Predebut
While in high school, Seungmin participated in JYPE's 13th Open Audition[3] and placed 2nd. He joined JYP Entertainment in March 2017, making him the 7th member to join the lineup.[4]
He was officially revealed by the company on October 13, 2017 for his participation in the upcoming survival show Stray Kids[5] and introduced with the role "Vocal" on the show. On the final episode on December 19, it was confirmed that Seungmin would debut in the boy group Stray Kids.
2018-present: Stray Kids
On March 25, 2018, Seungmin debuted with the mini album I am NOT as the lead vocalist of Stray Kids.[6]
He became a fixed MC for Arirang TV's English-language program After School Club from July 24 to December 25, 2018[7][8], and a fixed MC for KBS World's English-language program We K-pop from July 12 to October 11, 2019.[9]
Since 2020, he regularly releases covers as part of the SKZ-RECORD web series.
Seungmin released his first solo OST "Here Always" for the drama Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha on October 10, 2021, and his second solo OST "Close to You" for the drama Love in Contract on October 20, 2022.
He was nominated for "Best Artist of K-Drama OST" for "Close to You" at the 2023 Top Ten Awards.[10]
On August 19, 2023, his OSTs were moved from Stray Kids' discography to his solo Spotify profile, making him the first active solo member.
Seungmin released his third solo OST "Phobia" for the webtoon I'm the Queen in This Life on March 15, 2024. Soon after on April 9, he released his fourth solo OST "Destiny" for the drama The Midnight Studio on April 9, 2024.
He was nominated for "Best Artist OST" for "Destiny" for the 2024 Korean Drama Awards.
On December 13, 2024, Seungmin participated in writing and composing his original solo song "As we are" for Stray Kids' album HOP.
Seungmin released his fifth solo OST "My Destiny" for the drama The Potato Lab on March 2, 2025.
Artistry
Vocals
Seungmin is always refered to as the main vocalist of the group. His vocal tone is warm, and often said to convey melancholy well. He has a low to mid range voice, and he said bass-baritone voice is his specialty[11]. However in the recent years, he has shown his growth and his ability to reach powerful and higher notes while remaining stable, which was noticed during his famous performance of "Love poem" at Kingdom: Legendary War.
In the line distribution, he often gets pre-choruses and bridges.
