I am YOU is the third mini album by South Korean boy group Stray Kids. It was released on October 22, 2018 with "I am YOU" serving as the title track. "Get Cool" was used for follow-up promotions.

The physical release comes in two standard versions (I AM, YOU).

Background

The release of the album followed the showcase UNVEIL "Op. 03 : I am YOU" on October 21, 2018 at the Olympic Hall in Seoul.[1]

I am YOU was announced on October 4, 2018 with the announcement of the group's third showcase UNVEIL "Op. 03 : I am YOU".[2] It took place on October 21 at the Olympic hall in Seoul.

The group held its third and fourth mini fanmeeting after the pre-recording of "I am YOU" on Show! Music Core on October 27 and November 10, 2018.

On January 29, 2019, a Taiwanese special edition of the album was released, including all songs from I am WHO and a DVD.

Composition

“ I am YOU is an 8-track album including the title track of the same name, "I am YOU", which contains a message of hope that despite being an insecure youth, "I" grows through "YOU" and gains the strength to overcome anything. Following their pre-debut album Mixtape, their official debut mini album I am NOT, and their second mini album I am WHO Stray Kids participated in writing and composing all of the songs on I am YOU showing off their talents as singer-songwriter idols. Despite being rookies, the members' efforts to convey their message through active music work stand out. ”

Achievements

  • I am YOU sold 34,436 copies in the first week on Hanteo Chart and 76,547 copies in the first month on Circle Chart. It sold 243,462 copies in the first month on Circle Chart. In May 2022, it earned a Platinum (250,000+ sales) certification by KMCA.
