Wood was a material which could be used in the construction of objects. Princess Leia Organa owned a carved wooden keepsake chest[1] and a bed made from priceless Glee Anselm hardwoods.[2] On the night before the Battle of Endor, the smuggler Han Solo carved a figurine made of wood intending to depict Organa wearing a primitive dress and wielding a spear.[3] Types of wood included greel-wood[4] and Wroshyr wood.[5] Wookiees blended off-world technology like blasters and lightsabers with traditional materials such as wood, precious stones, and metals.[6] Shyriiwook, a language spoken by Wookiees, had 150 words for "wood"[7] but no word for "artist," as Wookiees viewed their carving skills as a survival skill and not a talent.[8] The Kilji war cruiser Whetstone's meeting room was made out of wood.[9] Some Tusken Raiders of Tatooine fashioned their gaderffii sticks from the wood of the wortwood tree.[10]
