The wortwood tree[2] was a species of trees found on the planet Tatooine. Tusken Raiders would craft their gaderffii sticks from the wood of the wortwood tree. Boba Fett crafted his gaderffii stick from the branch of[1] a dead[3] wortwood.[1]
Behind the scenes
The wortwood tree first appeared in a flashback scene in "Chapter 2: The Tribes of Tatooine," the second episode of The Book of Boba Fett television series,[1] which was released on Disney+ on January 5, 2022.[4] It was first identified by a news article about five highlights from that episode, which was released on StarWars.com on January 12, 2022.[2]
The 2023 reference book Star Wars 100 Objects is inconsistent, mentioning "the wortwood tree," implying there is only one tree in the species. However, the book later mentions "a wortwood tree," indcating there are multiple.[5]
