"What was first just a dream has become a frightening reality for those who may oppose us."
―Grand Admiral Thrawn[13]

The following events took place in or around the year 9 ABY, also known as 3286 LY according to the Lothal Calendar[11] and year 7986 in the C.R.C. calendar.[10]

Events

Thrawn-AhsokaPart8
  • Thrawn successfully escapes Peridea and returns with his Imperial remnant to the main galaxy. He leaves Sabine and Ahsoka trapped on the planet; Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati also remain on Peridea.[5][6]
  • Ezra Bridger returns home and reunites with Hera Syndulla.[5][6]
  • Silvo's pirates attempt to raid and plunder but find slim pickings over the course of several cycles. Upon discovering a single credit as their reward after a bloody raid, Silvo's crew mutiny and overthrow their captain,[14] installing Brutus as their new leader.[27] (Approximate date)[15]
  • Children Wim, Neel, KB, and Fern from[14] the lost planet[27] At Attin find themselves thrust into adventure after Wim discovers and activates the buried starship Onyx Cinder,[14] aboard which Fern installs herself as captain after meeting its droid crewmember SM-33.[27] (Approximate date)[15]
    • On SM-33's advice, the children venture to the dangerous shadowport of Borgo Prime, where they are captured by Brutus's pirates, discover the nature of their homeworld as a lost planet, and meet the human Jod Na Nawood, who claims himself to be a Jedi.[27] (Approximate date)[15]

In addition, "A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well.

As SW4 occurs in 0 BBY according to Star Wars: Timelines, 9 ASW4 correlates to 9 ABY. Preceding episodes, also take place in that year, since they take place after The Book of Boba Fett, which is dated to 9 ABY according to Timelines. As "Part Eight: The Jedi, the Witch, and the Warlord" takes place shortly after Part Seven, the events of Ahsoka as a whole must all take place within the same year.

  10. 10.0 10.1 Star Wars: Scum and Villainy: Case Files on the Galaxy's Most Notorious dates the assassination attempt on Padmé Amidala on Coruscant and the carbon-freezing of Han Solo—events that Star Wars: Timelines places in the years 22 BBY and 3 ABY of the 'ABY-BBY' dating system, respectively—to 7955.442.1 and 7980.421.2 in the Coruscant reckoning calendar, therefore establishing a difference of approximately 7,977 years between the two dating systems.
  11. 11.0 11.1 Star Wars Rebels: The Visual Guide places the founding of the Galactic Empire in the year 3258 LY of the Lothal Calendar. Star Wars: Timelines dates the proclamation of the New Order to 19 BBY, placing the zero point—the Battle of Yavin—of the 'ABY-BBY' dating system around 3277 LY and therefore establishing a difference of approximately 3,277 years between the two dating systems.
  12. Per Star Wars: The Rebel Files, a calendar existed during the reign of the Galactic Empire the zero point of which was the Empire's founding. Star Wars: Timelines dates the proclamation of the New Order to the year 19 BBY of the 'ABY-BBY' dating system, therefore establishing a difference of approximately nineteen years between the two dating systems.

  15. 15.0 15.1 15.2 15.3 15.4 15.5 15.6 Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. As StarWars.com SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set in the same time period as The Mandalorian, it must therefore also be set around 9 ABY.
  16. 16.0 16.1 16.2 16.3 The Mandalorian — "Chapter 3: The Sin"
  17. 17.00 17.01 17.02 17.03 17.04 17.05 17.06 17.07 17.08 17.09 The Mandalorian — "Chapter 6: The Prisoner"

  20. Hunters: Battle for the Arena
  21. Hunters: Battle for the Arena states that Rieve is 21 years old during its events. Hunters: Battle for the Arena takes place after the fall of the Galactic Empire, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 5 ABY. Rieve is 21 years old; in a flashback set during the Imperial Era, she is 16 years old. So the novel cannot take place more than four or five years after the Fall of the Empire. As it also takes place after Aran Tal joined the Hunters of the Outer Rim, which Star Wars: Timelines dates to 9 ABY, the book must be set around that year.
  22. 22.0 22.1 22.2 22.3 The Mandalorian — "Chapter 24: The Return"
  23. 23.0 23.1 Halcyon Legacy 5
  24. 24.0 24.1 Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of Halcyon Legacy 5 to 34 ABY. As the flashback events of Halcyon Legacy 5 take place around 25 years before the main story, they must take place around 9 ABY.
  25. 25.0 25.1 25.2 25.3 25.4 Ahsoka — "Part Two: Toil and Trouble"
  26. Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
  27. 27.0 27.1 27.2 27.3 Star Wars: Skeleton Crew — "Way, Way Out Past the Barrier"
  28. 28.0 28.1 28.2 28.3 The Mandalorian — "Chapter 4: Sanctuary"
  29. 29.0 29.1 29.2 29.3 The Mandalorian — "Chapter 5: The Gunslinger"
  30. 30.0 30.1 30.2 The Mandalorian — "Chapter 8: Redemption"

  32. 32.0 32.1 32.2 The Book of Boba Fett — "Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm"
  33. 33.0 33.1 33.2 The flashback sequence in "Chapter 4: The Gathering Storm" is set between "Chapter 5: The Gunslinger" and "Chapter 9: The Marshal." Per the reasoning here, Chapter 5 and Chapter 9 of The Mandalorian are set around and in 9 ABY, respectively, placing the events around that year.
  34. 34.0 34.1 34.2 The Mandalorian — "Chapter 9: The Marshal"
  35. 35.0 35.1 35.2 The Mandalorian — "Chapter 10: The Passenger"

  54. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew — "The Real Good Guys"
  55. Galaxy's Edge: Black Spire begins concurrent with the events of Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, then jumps four months ahead to the Resistance establishing its presence on Batuu, and concludes with an epilogue set several weeks later, when the First Order occupies the planet and the Battle of Batuu begins. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of The Force Awakens and the Battle of Batuu to 34 ABY, everything within Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and any related tie-in media depicting the Battle of Batuu, or set between The Force Awakens and the battle, must also occur in 34 ABY. As Galaxy's Edge: Black Spire establishes that Dolin was twenty-five, we can deduce that he was born in 9 ABY.
