A Torpedo is a self-propelled weapon with an explosive warhead, launched above or below the water surface, propelled underwater towards a target, and designed to detonate either on contact with its target or in proximity to it. During the Lylat Wars, Slippy and Beltino Toad's experimental Blue-Marine was outfitted with a Torpedo launcher that used top secret technology to self generate an unlimited supply of Torpedoes to put to tremendous use during the battle of Aquas against the sea creatures and the bioweapon Bacoon. The Illegally Modified Research Vessel, known as Sarumarine, was also armed with its own Torpedo Launchers, which resembled floating barrels.
Gameplay

In "Star Fox 64", instead of using Smart Bombs, the Blue-Marine is armed with a Torpedo launcher, able to fire an unlimited supply of "Light Bomb" underwater based projectiles that can be locked onto its target with the use of the reticle, in place of Charged Lasers. The submersible has one weakness, and this is the fact that its visual sensors were not designed to work in the darkness of great depths; it was instead designed to use sonar. Therefore, in order to see clearly in the murky abyss, the Blue-Marine must use "Light Bomb" torpedoes, of which it has an unlimited supply. The launch time between each Torpedo is however slow, therefore it leaves the Blue-Marine vulnerable against oncoming enemies until the previous shot has hit its target.
In the Manga
As well as torpedoes being used by the Blue-Marine on Aquas, Andrew Oikonny's Wolfen starfighter uses a disrupter torpedo when the Star Wolf Team ambushed the Star Fox Team at Meteo.
