The Grenade is an explosive default weapon available in Star Fox: Assault.
Usage
- “GRENADE:
The metalic projectile will bounce off any surface it hits, so aim and throw carefully. If you press down the fire button, you can "pull the pin" and hold a grenade before lobbing it” - —
The grenade does not work like other weapons. After being thrown it explodes after a short period of time. When the A or R button is held, the grenade will charge and therefore detonate sooner after throwing. Although the character must be careful for if they hold down the charge to long, they can be harmed by the grenades explosion. The character charging the grenade's throw will make a sound. The height of throwing the Grenade can be changed to accommodate strategy.

In the game

Grenades first become available in the Main Game's Mission 3: "Mission 3: Sargasso Space Zone; Hostilliters Revisited". Grenades can be found in odd places around the hideout, even some enemies will drop them as a pickup reward. They are useful against the large combat robots and the transfer devices due to their higher health meters.
