Mr. Gracq (name assumed) is a minor, unseen character mentioned in the first incident of File Under: 13 Suspicious Incidents, "Inside Job."
Biography
Mr. Gracq lived in Stain'd-by-the-Sea, where he worked a miner in the only mine in town, which was located in his family's backyard. He lived there with his daughter, Marguerite, and her mother, who collected portraits of finnish poets.
Gracq managed to successfully hide the gold from the mine for many years by melting it down and fashioning it into nails, which he would then paint black to disguise the color; he claimed that the black nails were more useful and did less damage to the wall due to the way they curved to prevent suspicions. Aside from using the nails to hang his wife's portraits, he kept the nails locked in his private workshop.
Following the economic collapse of Stain'd-by-the-Sea, Gracq believed that they had mined all the gold there was to get from the family mine. Leaving his daughter in the care of Dagmar and with the only key to his workshop, he left town in order to find them a better place to live.
It is unknown when or if he returned.[1]
