Sewers is the sixth level of Serious Sam: The Random Encounter.

Plot

The heroes have reached the deepest part of the temple, but Mental was nowhere in sight. Instead, the temple exit was guarded by a horrible beast dwelling in the waters. Naturally they killed it and left the temple, expecting and excited to finally shoot Mental in the face.

Secrets

  • A barely hidden teleporter at the bottom of the level transports the player to the second, inaccessible area seen in "Valley of Keys". Here are two chests containing a Serious Bomb and a Serious Damage item respectively, guarded by a secret boss.

Tactics

  • The chest in the north contains a Grenade Launcher. It is advised to pick it up for the upcoming boss fight.
  • Tentaculus is the toughest foe encountered thus far. The grenade launcher is a highly recommended weapon for this fight, as it is the only weapon that can consistently bypass the tentacle Tentaculus shields itself with for most of the fight. At least one character should focus on dealing with the Electro-Fishes that it spews from its mouth, as they can quickly decimate the party.
  • The secret boss that can be found in this level, a stampede of flaming, black Werebulls, is similarly deadly. While they are functionally no different from regular Werebulls, they have a lot of health and instantly kill any character on contact. One strategy to defeat them is to equip one character with an XL2 Lasergun and have them shoot straight ahead. Its piercing quality means he can hit multiple bulls at once, while its slowdown is powerful enough to prevent them from reaching him, as long as they are hit head-on. The other characters are most likely going to die, but the rewards are worth it.
  • When going for the secret, don't worry about dying to the secret boss. The secret area is technically considered to be its own level (referred to as "1-2B Flaming Desert"), meaning that a game over simply puts the player right before the fight.
  • You can skip the boss battle if you accidentally encounter enemies in front of him. To do this, you need to move away from the boss and return to the place in front of him again to trigger a battle with ordinary enemies. Tentaculus will escape.
