Chokkina, sometimes known by his moniker of Chokkina the Sly or "Scissor Head" is a high ranking member of Janken the Great's invading army.
Appearance
Chokkina, much like his fellow commanders Gooseka and Parpalin, has a head shaped like a hand signal used in Rock-Paper-Scissors. In Chokkina's case his head is shaped like the 'scissors' symbol, or a hand giving the peace sign, with his eyes being on the index and middle finger, like stalks.
Chokkina wears a green and red outfit in both appearances, and is slimmer than his fellow commanders, lacking the muscle mass of Gooseka or Parpalin's bulk. The major difference between the two versions is Chokkina seems to lose the mouth he had in his original appearance in Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX and his eyes are now red.
History
Chokkina hails from Planet Paperrock, a planet where disputes are settled with life and death matches of Rock-Paper-Scissors. Having proved his skill in the game, he managed to become the second commander of Janken the Great's army, before coming to Planet Aries alongside Gooseka and Parpalin to make Janken the new king.
Alex Kidd first encounters Chokkina in Mt. Kave, where he has been appointed the new ruler of the volcano. He demands to know why Alex is causing a fuss in his cave, before attempting to introduce himself. Alex, already having gone through this with Gooseka, interrupts him with what Chokkina was about to tell him. Flustered, Chokkina is outraged and challenges Alex to a game of Janken, which he ultimately loses, transforming into a onigiri/hamburger/spanish omelette or fish and chips meal for Alex to devour.
Somehow being eaten doesn't kill Chokkina, and he comes across Alex once more in the City of Radaxian. He expresses shock at Alex still being alive and comments that Janken the Great will not be happy about this situation. He also reveals that because of Alex, he was banished from the volcano, but has managed to retain it's powers, planning to burn the city down and make it his new fortress. Alex and Chokkina play a round of Janken, which Chokkina loses, but refuses to go down.
In the original Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Chokkina seperates his head from his body, similar to Gooseka, only this time his head swoops faster and more at a wild angle. He also claps his hands together to create energy balls that he fires from his decapitated body's hands. Alex Kidd defeats him by punching his head, and dodging the energy blasts until Chokkina's body explodes into a meal once again, this time defeating him for good.
In Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX, Chokkina begins stomping the ground, summoning volcanic meteors from the sky, in an attempt to burn the city and grasslands down. He also will fire his energy blasts, and has the ability to teleport, making him a trickier opponent than Gooseka. Once again, Alex must dodge Chokkina's projectiles and punch him until he is defeated, and turned into a meal for Alex, this time for good.
Trivia
- Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX shows that the Janken Army is filled with numerous henchmen that look like Gooseka, Chokkina and Parpalin. Chokkina's fellow Scissor-Heads seem to be foot soldiers, armed with spears with a replica 'scissor head' symbol on the end in place of a spear head. It can be assumed Chokkina is in charge of the Scissor-Head troops.
- Chokkina appears to be able to tap into mystical powers between shooting energy blasts/balls, teleporting and obtaining the powers of a volcano.
