Melli

Melli is a character in Pokémon Legends Arceus. He is a member of the Diamond Clan and is the warden of Hisuian Electrode in the Coronet Highlands. He bears a resemblance to Jupiter, though the connection is unknown.

Appearance

Melli is a young man with purple-blue hair and eyes. He wears a beanie and a Diamond clan uniform with matching purple-blue pants and black and red boots. He also wears a choker in his neck.

Personality

He is very self-absorbed, calling himself "The Great Melli." He also seems to argue with the Pearl Clan more than the other wardens of the Diamond clan, mainly arguing with Ingo and Lian throughout the game. He holds great reverence towards Pokémon, especially the "great Sinnoh", the Diamond Clan's name for Dialga, seeing any decision they make, no matter the consequences to people or Pokémon, even the Noble Pokémon he takes care of.

Due to his arrogant and egotistical nature, he is prone to provoking fights easily when he gets offended at the pettiest of criticism. However, he still passionately cares for his fellow Diamond Clan members and admires Adaman as an older brother.

According to Mai, Melli was shier and more withdrawn as a child, until he one day announced that he would work hard to help Adaman, though judging by his conceit he appears to have worked hard to extremes.

Etymology

Melli is extracted from the word "camellia", a flowering evergreen shrub which flowers are normally used to make tea.

Biography

The Player battles him twice throughout Coronet Highlands. The first time he uses a Skuntank and the second time, he battles with a Skuntank, Zubat and Skorupi simultaneously.

Trivia

• Melli's countenance is likely based on a Shinto priest. His Eboshi is presumably based on the ones worn by the said religion's religious staff as well.
