Bo is a new character in Phoenotopia: Awakening who promotes the art form of "free running" to others. He would provide running courses for Gail in various Locations and reward her usually with RIN for the demonstration and inspiration upon wonderful completion.
Description
Bo is an athletic young man. His skin is dark-toned and he has dark brown hair in dreadlocks style. He wears a beige tank and green pants, and he is always seen stretching and jogging instead of standing idly still.
Each of his running courses consists of collecting 10 flags in various spots of one screen within a time limit, and succeeding would usually reward players with RIN.
Side Quest
Bo is first encountered in Atai Town. Upon completing his running course, Gail is rewarded with 30 RIN. A young girl will later be seen commenting on Gail's performance here.
Bo is next encountered in Moonlight Ravine. Upon completing his running course, Gail is rewarded with 40 RIN. A teenage girl will later be seen commenting on Gail's performance here.
Bo is next encountered in Daea City. Upon completing his running course, Gail is rewarded with 50 RIN. A young boy will later be seen commenting on Gail's performance here, and you may refer him to Teraka's dojo for a Moonstone after Gail has learned Concentrate.
Bo is next encountered in Cosette Village. Upon completing his running course, Gail is rewarded with 60 RIN and Bo will move on to the next location. A Golem will later be seen commenting on Gail's performance here.
Bo is last encountered in the Old Castles. Upon completing his running course, Gail is rewarded with an Energy Gem and Bo will bid her farewell this time.
Trivia
- Bo would mention a movement tip if you fail his last course. If you press the sprint button just when Gail is about to land from great height, the landing lag would be cancelled into a roll immediately instead
- Bo's comment for each running course is the same regardless if you are taking his intended route
- For instance, he will compliment on your "dive" in Moonlight Ravine even if you use the Rocket Boots to reach the flag in the far left without actually diving
- The developer compares Bo and his challenges to the Koopa racing challenges in Super Mario Odyssey in his Dev Blog
- They are also similar to Gilda's racing challenges in Epic Mickey, in which Mickey must race Gilda's spirit guardian around levels in order to obtain quest items from Gilda.
