Kleimann tells Sinoa that they react to failure differently. She considers it to be a failure, while he considers it to be new knowledge, as they now what won't work. They try another experiment and cause an explosion, with Sinoa reacting more positively than before.

Xander appears dressed in his Dragonyule outfit, Cleo dresses in several of her different seasonal outfits, Ricardt arrives wearing Berserker's massive armor, Aoi tries to pass her ninja arts as costumes, and a mysterious figure appears, who is promptly sent to the dungeon. Finally, someone arrives dressed as the Pumpking, and the judges declare him the winner. Unbeknownst to them, it's the actual Pumpking.

After Rex digs a tunnel from the courtyard to outside the castle, Jurota requests he build another tunnel, from the inside of the castle to the outside. Alain directs them to an unused room they can use, and they start the build the tunnel, only to be blocked by stone. They try a different route, but it's blocked by a waterway. Alain directs the two others to a naturally made tunnel he discovered, and the three continue their tunnel building. When they're blocked by bedrock, they head upwards, only to discover they dug into Euden's bedroom. They decide to repurpose the tunnel as an escape route for Euden.

Irfan overheard Mikoto saying he's going to ask Saint Starfall for his cat Mineuchi to return home. He goes to tell him Saint Starfall isn't real, but he is stopped by Xander. Instead, Xander tries to discourage Mikoto by telling him he lives at the top of a dangerous mountain, but Mikoto heads there anyways. They set up several traps to stop him, but both fail. Then Xander, now in his Dragonyule outfit, declares himself to be an agent of Saint Starfall, and battles Mikoto. An avalanche knocks Irfan and Xander out, and they awake back on the ground - Mikoto says it was Saint Starfall who brought them their on his sleigh.

After avoiding falling rocks, a fiend, and a forest fire, she meets Luca at the mountain. Suddenly, she is struck by lightning, and Philia and Verica see death through her orbuculum. But miraculously, Chelsea is able to chase off death itself, and she survives.

They reveal this to Francesca, who is excited about it, and runs the Halidom's stall at the banquet. The stall is a success, and Francesca agrees to represent the Halidom at next year's banquet.

After one such explosion, Melody arrives and accidentally activates the apparatus, forcing her to pull a certain lever. Unlike last time, there is no explosion. They decide to base the experiment on random chance, but decide against it after Melody causes an explosion.

Jurota fights Aoi, who's on night watch, allowing the others to sneak past. The morning prior, a group of young men are playing a tabletop game when Ranzal returns from the city nightlife. Ranzal declines taking the guys with him, as it's too dangerous, so the men plan to sneak out at night. Following the beginning, the men (sans Jurota) encounter a sleepwalking Yue, forcing Nicolas to keep a spell in place until she calms down. Eugene and Hope encounter Celliera, who's doing some training. They split up and Eugene is caught by Celliera, who makes him exercise. Hope is almost out, but he is blocked by Ranzal, who already expected they would try that. The next morning, Ranzal promises he'll take the men out on the town when they have more experience.

Eventually, Gauld meets Maribelle, who tells her "Arianna" is the name of a book she owns that Angie read, and that Angie wants to be an author. Gauld is finally able to get his granddaughter the present she wants.

Aeleen can't figure out why her Piriara lightblooms keep wilting until Sophie mentions they can be disrupted by negative emotions. So Aeleen attempts to keep the negative side of her within so the plants won't wilt. When a bear tries to eat the flowers, Aeleen flies into a rage and chases it off, but the flowers don't wilt. Sophie realizes that because she was angry with the desire to protect, it was still positive energy. She agrees to help Aeleen grow the plants in the future.

Karl informs Linus that he's added a few new members to "Team Justice", a group Karl created, the new members being Eirene and Finni. The energetic Finni fits right in with Karl, while Linus and Eirene take the method of preventing mischief before it happens. At the end, the team agrees to take on a surveillance operation.

Kuzunoha shows Mitsuba and Sazanka a piece of tofu she cooked that looks like Amaterasu, but the two chefs note that the tofu is badly burnt and hardly resembles the goddess. They try to tell Kuzunoha their concerns, but she doesn't initially understand. As the tofu grows older, Mitsuba decides not to waste it and uses it to make soup. Kuzunoha understands and enjoys the soup, but the next day Mistuba finds her burning tofu to look like Ilia.
