Crystal Wall (クリスタルウォール Kurisutaru Wōru) is the weapon X receives from defeating Earthrock Trilobyte in Mega Man X8. As its name implies, it makes a crystal wall appear. These walls are orange-yellow and their tops are pointed. They can be used to crush enemies by knocking them onto said enemies, and in some ways the wall can be used as a shield. This weapon is Gigabolt Man-O-War's weakness, and can redirect the thunderbolts that Gigabolt unleashes in his Overdrive Attack as well as destroy his jellyfish drones. X has to be standing on solid ground in order to use this weapon. With the Crystal Wall equipped, X has his colour scheme changed to shades of orange.
When charged, the weapon creates an even larger crystal wall. It also often unearths a Life Energy within, which can be obtained after the crystal is shattered. This function can be used to unearth Rare Metals in certain locations, including Metal Valley, Pitch Black, Booster Forest, and Primrose.
Earthrock Trilobyte creates moving, purple variations of Crystal Walls in order to crush the player against the walls upon losing half his HP. This also occurs as X makes his way into the warehouse following his fight with a Yellow Brontes. These crystal walls have flat tops.
