Kato Cocoro (加藤心) is a member of the Japanese girl-group, ME:I, and a former member of the South Korean girl group, Cherry Bullet. In 2023, she made her reappearance as a contestant on PRODUCE 101 JAPAN THE GIRLS, after a three year hiatus from the entertainment industry after her withdrawal from Cherry bullet. She was announced as the eleventh and final member of ME:I on December 16, 2023.
History
Early life
Cocoro was part of a dance crew called "Nagoya Nine" pre debut, she was a student at the Avex Artist Academy in Nagoya, where she was scouted by FNC Entertainment in 2016.
2019: Debut with and departure from Cherry Bullet
In February 2019, Cocoro debuted with Cherry Bullet. On December 13, FNC Entertainment announced that members Cocoro, Lin Lin, and Mi Rae would be leaving Cherry Bullet after deciding to terminate their contracts.
2023: PRODUCE 101 JAPAN THE GIRLS
On September 3, she was announced as a trainee on PRODUCE 101 JAPAN THE GIRLS, which officially started broadcasting on October 5. In the first episode, she was peer ranked 52nd, and given an original grade of A during the first evaluation and was re-evaluated to grade A.
During the broadcast of the final episode, Cocoro was announced as a member of the debut group, ME:I, finishing in 11th place overall.
