Laser Beam

Laser Beam is a special ability in the Mario Baseball series. It first appears in Mario Superstar Baseball and reappears in Mario Super Sluggers.

Description

Whenever a character with the Laser Beam ability throws the ball to home base, the ball travels a lot faster than normal while sailing at a much lower arc.

In Mario Baseball series

Mario Superstar Baseball

The Laser Beam can only be used by Waluigi, Bowser, Donkey Kong, and the Piantas. Laser Beam's speed differs depending on who uses it, with Waluigi's Laser Beam being one of the faster ones.

Mario Super Sluggers

Laser Beam is instead used by Wario, King K. Rool, and the Piantas, who are the only characters to retain the ability from Mario Superstar Baseball. Each character now throws their Laser Beam at the same speed.

In Challenge mode, there is a scout mission in Wario City in which the object is to get the runner out using a Laser Beam throw three times. In doing so, Boo joins Mario's party.
