ADOR

ADOR (어도어; short for All Doors One Room) is a South Korean record label. It was founded in 2021 as an independent label under HYBE.[1]

History

In July 2019, Min Hee-jin joined HYBE (then-known as Big Hit) as their new CBO (Chief Brand Officer). It was reported that she was tasked to oversee the Big Hit brand (which would later come part into play with the HYBE system) and to launch her own label.[2] It was also later announced that she will become the creative director for a girl group project between Big Hit and Source Music.[3]

On April 1, 2021, trademarks for ADOR have been registered on KIPRIS.[4]

On November 12, 2021, HYBE officially announced the establishment of ADOR with Min Hee-jin as the CEO. It was also announced that ADOR is currently preparing to debut a girl group in 2022, primarily consisting of members selected from the Plus Global Audition in 2019.[1] On November 17, 2021, HYBE CFO Lee Kyung-jun and HYBE Global Strategy Team Leader Lee Changwoo joins the label as in-house directors.[5]

On November 30, 2021, ADOR announced that its first global audition would take place from December 1, 2021 to January 10, 2022, the audition aimed to recruit new trainees born between 2002 to 2010 regardless of gender for future groups that can debut after their first girl group in 2022.[6][7]

On July 1, 2022, ADOR announced via billboards at K-POP Square and various teaser videos that their first girl group will begin releasing content on July 22.[8][9]

On August 27, 2024, ADOR announced that Min Hee-jin will be stepping down from her position as CEO and be an internal director moving forward while producing NewJeans. Meanwhile, human resources expert Kim Joo-young was appointed as the new CEO. A representative of Min Hee-jin stated that her dismissal was made unilaterally without her consent.[10]

On October 17, ADOR announced that former CEO Min Hee-jin was reappointed as an inside director.[11] However, on November 20, it was announced that she had resigned from the board of directors of ADOR.[12]
