A Warp Hole is a device in the Kirby series, debuting in Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
Physical Appearance
In its most common appearance, a Warp Hole resembles a vortex with rainbow colors at its edges and a dark center. Certain Warp Holes that lead to boss arenas instead have a jaged perimeter and are colored pink with a bright center.

Warp Holes are portals, first appearing in Royal Road. They behave similarly to Dimensional rifts, where only touching them is required to enter. They are used to travel throughout some of the areas in Royal Road, but also lead to certain other locations. According to Satoshi Ishida, the Warp Holes were created by Queen Sectonia for the purpose of conquering the other islands of Floralia, as well as the land below.[1] This is most obviously demonstrated in Stage 3 of Royal Road, where Kirby revisits the various islands of Floralia, traveling through Warp Holes to go to each location.
In Dededetour, Warp Holes can be found hidden in various locations, and serve as shortcuts to skip segments of the mode to improve the player's time. When King Dedede enters one of these Warp Holes, the "Royal Warp" song plays.
Trivia
- After defeating Dark Meta Knight in the Dimension Mirror, a portal that resembles a Warp Hole appears, taking the Kirbys to Dark Mind.
- In the battles against Star Dream and Star Dream Soul OS, their Megabit Shots and Megabyte Shots come out of portals that resemble Warp Holes.
