The Baby Red Ant is a Tier 1 pet that will always spawn after feeding a Juicy Mushroom Sandwich to the Red Ant Queen. It does not require any slurry to tame and will automatically be tamed.
If the player chooses to feed the Red Ant Queen the Poison Mushroom Sandwich or Infected Mushroom Sandwich, the Baby Red Ant cannot be obtained in that save unless New Game+ is started or progressed if the player is already in New Game+.
However, if the player's Baby Red Ant dies you may return to the Red Ant Queen and get a new one without feeding her again. But, if the player has gone into a New Game+ and has given the Red Ant Queen a Poison Mushroom Sandwich or Infected Mushroom Sandwich, they cannot get another Baby Red Ant.
It has 3 variants all obtained from the other ant queens, the Baby Black Ant and Baby Fire Ant.
Behavior
The Baby Red Ant will automatically become a pet when the player feeds a Juicy Mushroom Sandwich to the Red Ant Queen. The Baby Red Ant behaves much like any other pet, being able to be pet, put in a Pet House, or equipped with Pet Attire. Unlike most pets, it also has a storage for the player of 20 slots of inventory space, effectively making it a mobile storage. It will also give the player +Hauling Strength when not in Pet House, which will give the player to hold 15 extra Grass Planks or Weed Stems.
The Baby Red Ant can also be fed Spoiled Meat Slurry, despite not being tamed with it.
Unlike regular worker ants, the Baby Red Ant will not steal and eat food from Jerky Racks, Roasting Spits or storage.
Notes
- The creature card will be obtained automatically after the player feeds the Red Ant Queen the Juicy Mushroom Sandwich.
- This does mean it cannot be obtained if the player poisons or infects her. It is not required for a Super Win.
