Power of Words (言霊, Kotodama) is the twelfth episode of GARO: The Makai Flower.
Synopsis
A baby Spirit Beast gets separated from its mother and is cared for by a human girl named Karina. After being attacked by a Horror and saved by Raiga, she goes on a journey with him to find the mother and return the baby to her. During the journey, Karina reminisces about her grandfather and wonders about what he thought of her.
Summary
As Karina is cycling next to the river, she finds a baby Spirit Beast and brings it home. Karina buts the spirit beast into a jar and picks up a book to read.
As she goes to sleep, the Spirit Beast projects an image of her grandfather into her dreams.
When Karina wakes up, she discovers that the Spirit Beast has filled the jar, and she fails to set it free. Later, when she is studying, the beast breaks free from the jar and Karin hangs out with it, treating it like a pet.
In the eveneing, the Spirit Beast is scared by a horror, but is rescued by Crow and Raiga, who take possession of the Spirit Beast. Raiga allows Karina to join them in returning the small Spirit Beast to its parents. Karina and Raiga both take a potion that allows them to see the Makai as the return the Spirit Beast. At a bridge, Karina tells Raiga about her grandfather and her relationship with him. At a tunnel, Karina shows Raiga a statue that her grandfather made for her.
When they arrive at the water, a large spirit beast appears, revealing itself to be what Karinas grandfather made a statue of. Raige returns the small spirit beast.
Karina wakes up with no memory.
