Pico is the pilot of the Wild Goose, and was a former soldier of an elite unit of the Poripoto Army. He is from the planet Death Wind, and was rumored to be a hitman (which is confirmed in F-Zero GX).
Appearance
In his original appearance in the SNES F-Zero manual, Pico was a green humanoid alien with a long head, white sclera, and very light colored pupils. His attire consisted of pink armor, pink shoulder pads, an orange part of what either may be armor or cloth attached, and two black-colored belts (one in his standalone portrait, two in the manual comic) that were connected to a silver part of his torso armor. He had a silver belt, blue jeans, and purple boots with black and white accents.
In his more modern appearance as of F-Zero X, Pico more closely resembles a turtle in orange armor with blue accents that appear to be cloth, red briefs, silver boot-like armor with red 'feet' along with red and blue accents. There are silver tubes that extend from his armor and boots.
Personality
He is usually calm and collected, but his aggressive side comes out on the track. It is this aggressive and reckless driving style that put the blame on Pico for the huge accident three years before F-Zero X.
History
Before F-Zero (SNES)
Though he became an F-Zero pilot at some point, it was rumored that Pico was a hitman behind the scenes. However, this is confirmed by F-Zero GX in his interviews, where he says "Time for my other career. I've got some assassinations to carry out."

From Death Wind. Age: 34.
Believed to be an ex-soldier who worked in the Poripoto Army’s Special Fighting Unit. He is a highly aggressive pilot, and his cold heart is a perfect complement to this. Officially, his occupation is an F-ZERO pilot, but it is rumored that he is also a competent hitman.[1] |

Pico used to work for a special unit of the Poripoto army. He’s aggressive, but calm. Rumor has it that he is also an infamous hitman.[2] |

Age: 123 (Self-proclaimed)
English Translation by Sidier: A former member of the Poripoto army's special unit. He has an aggressive personality as well as a coolness to complement it. Publicly, he's a F-Zero pilot but, he's often rumored to, behind the stages, being a very competent hitman.[4] |

F-Zero GX In-Game US Pilot Profile |

Sex: M | Age: 124
Pico was a member of a special unit of the Poripoto army and carried out a number of dangerous missions. He is very aggressive, yet cool-headed enough to do what needs to be done to the bitter end. Individuals who mess with him often don’t live to do anything else. After retirement, Pico opened a small shop near the military base, but he still operates as a notorious assassin. The accident four years is said to have been caused by his dangerous driving, and for this reason he is disliked by many of the F-ZERO fans. This doesn’t stop him from running the circuit as recklessly as always. |
Notes: His age should be a self-proclaimed 124, not a definite 124.
F-Zero GX In-Game JP Pilot Profile |

Sex: M | Age: 124 (Self-proclaimed)
DeepL Translation: He is a former member of the Poripoto Special Forces and has completed many missions. He’s calm, so he’s able to keep his more aggressive side in check. (In other words, if you let him lose his temper, he's out of control.) After retiring from the military, he now works in a small shop near the Poripoto military base, but he is rumored to be an effective hitman behind the scenes. His very aggressive nature comes out when he’s racing. His dangerous driving is said to be the original cause of the big accident four years ago. As such, all F-Zero fans hate him, but Pico doesn’t care and continues to compete in races with his aggressive style of driving. |
Note: The kanji for “the underworld” is used here, though in “ura no sekaide” / “裏の世界.” When comparing this to the same kanji used for Blood Falcon and Deathborn's pilot profiles in Lifescythe’s findings, Underworld for those two refers to “the back world” / criminally involved elements / illegal things. In their contexts, it’s illegal racing. For Pico, it’s "something sketchy" but "behind the scenes" is probably also fitting as it was also used in the US pilot profile.

Sex: M | Age: 124?
Hard-Boiled Ex-Military Hit Man. Pico was a member of a special unit of the Poripoto army and carried out a number of dangerous missions. He is very aggressive, yet cool-headed enough to do what is necessary to survive to the bitter end. Mess with him and it will likely be the last thing you do. |
Note: The question mark in his age comes from the US manual bio.
F-Zero GX Story Mode
Pico appears as early as the first chapter alongside a small group of pilots witnessing Black Shadow on the news. He is also later seen during Chapter 7 at the F-Zero GX Grand Prix.
F-Zero GX Interviews

Pico Polishing Up the License to Kill
Upon beating any Grand Prix on Master mode with the Wild Goose, it will unlock a special video for Pico, which also features his theme song.
Pico appears in an open field, armed with several guns. He fires at his cutout targets as they appear with precision while switching weapons at some points. He fires a final shot just above the head of a civilian cutout, which seems to be uncalled for, until the camera reveals an image of Black Shadow on the other side with the bullet hole through his head.
F-Zero AX
Pico is one of the starter pilots in the arcade variant of F-Zero GX, known as F-Zero AX.
Other Appearances
He is often featured as a trophy in the Super Smash Bros. series, but was oddly missing from Melee trophies. He is featured as a Spirit in Ultimate's World of Light Adventure Mode, required in order to move the Wild Goose along a track area.

Trivia
- Contrary to popular belief, Pico is not from the planet Tortiz 3 / Toritz 3, as this is not canon and is part of unofficial information that stems from an inconsistent source.
- Pico's age change from 34 in SNES F-Zero to a self-proclaimed 123 in F-Zero X is never explained, nor is the reason for his drastic appearance change. Given that Dr. Stewart's age seems to be timeline consistent between SNES to X and GX (31-42, meaning he has had racing experience for over a decade as stated in his profile), it is most likely that Pico's case is a matter of retcons.
- He closely resembles a turtle in his X and GX appearance.
- Despite the fact his status as a hitman is usually left as "rumored" or just something he does behind the scenes, he outright admits it during one of his F-Zero GX interviews.
- It is not known how long Pico had been part of the Poripoto Army.
- Pico uses guns with bullets as opposed to Captain Falcon and Scale Head, in which the latter two both used laser guns.
- Pico is completely absent from Maximum Velocity, despite being an arguably major pilot, but it can be assumed that he also retired from racing like Captain Falcon and Dr. Stewart.
- Pico's Master Pilot video is ironic in the sense that he shoots a target of Black Shadow, but their Animeverse counterparts work in the same organization.
