Beastman is the pilot of the Hyper Speeder, and is a beast hunter.
History
Before F-Zero X
When Beastman was a child, he was attacked by a massive alligator (sometimes stated to be a crocodile) on his planet. This event changed his life and he became a beast hunter. Dressing himself in an outfit derived from the largest beast he had slain (according to a GX interview), he kept his identity hidden. The outfit also helped him seemingly overcome his apparent shyness. People soon came to give him the name of "Beastman" over time.
After he had slayed most if not all of the beasts on his planet, he realized that he would need to find another place to resume his work. Turning to the upcoming F-Zero X Grand Prix as a way to advertise his beast hunting services, he would plan to enter the race. Coming across a downed fighter plane from an interplanetary war sometime in the past, Beastman would take the wreckage to an F-Zero engineer known as Dr. Clash. Dr. Clash would then convert the wreckage into an F-Zero machine for a low price, and Beastman would acquire his own F-Zero machine, the Hyper Speeder.
F-Zero X
During the F-Zero X Grand Prix, he had encountered a dinosaur pilot named Bio Rex. As a beast hunter, the encounter would set up the motivation for Beastman to join the Grand Prix once more the following year. He had lost the race to Captain Falcon, however.

Beastman became a beast hunter after a nasty encounter with a gigantic crocodile on the planet White. After surviving the ordeal, he decided that he wanted to protect people from such dangerous creatures. He is actually quite shy, and in order to keep his bashful nature from being discovered, he adorned himself in the imposing outfit of a dinosaur. Before long, due to his heroic deeds and growing popularity, he became known as the Beastman. Having dealt with all the beasts on his own planet, he entered the F-ZERO X Grand Prix for promotional reasons. There, he met Bio Rex for the first time, and knowing the creature was competing, he made a vow to protect the other pilots and crowd from such a dangerous beast.[1] |
Note: Although "White" is interpreted in the GX US Pilot Profile as Beastman's planet, the JP Pilot Profile uses the Japanese word for "White" (shiroi) to describe the alligator/crocodile.

DeepL Translation: After being nearly eaten by a giant white space crocodile a long time ago, he became a hunter to protect people from dangerous and ferocious beasts. Because he is shy, he wore a fearsome dinosaur helmet during his missions in order to conceal his true nature. From then on, people gave him the nickname of "Beastman."
After killing all the fierce beasts on his planet, he decided to promote himself and his work in the F-Zero X Grand Prix last year. There, he had a fateful encounter with a dinosaur named Bio Rex. This time, he has entered the competition to protect people, such as the pilots and fans, from the dangerous dinosaur. |

Go Beastman!
Upon beating any Grand Prix on Master mode with the Hyper Speeder, it will unlock a special video for Beastman, which also features his theme song.
Beastman's Master Pilot video is depicted entirely in a 2D comic style. He is seen on top of a large building and nearly loses balance, only to quickly regain it. He then leaps off the building and sprints along the side of another building. As he prepares himself for a jump, he miscalculates the distance and falls down several stories. A group of people begin to crowd around where Beastman had fallen, only for the beast hunter to pop his head from the ground, having survived with few injuries.

Trivia
- Beastman lacks a 3D model in the cinematics for F-Zero GX, and his Master Pilot video consists of 2D animation.
- Despite not being present during Chapter 3's cutscene, Beastman's name can be seen on the lineup for the bet race, albeit spelled as "Beast Man."
- His odds in the race start as 9.2, but change to 8.1 shortly before the race begins.
- The face shield of Beastman's helmet has a different design compared to Captain Falcon and Blood Falcon's helmets. Beastman's face shield is seemingly more transparent, and the triangle eyes don't seem to be part of the shield itself, but are on Beastman's face.
- When he is asked about the biggest animal that he has ever brought down, he points to his own helmet, possibly also implying that he made the helmet himself.
- In F-Zero X, his Hyper Speeder has a white alternate palette, while in GX, it was replaced with a yellow palette instead. The former could be a reference to albinism in animals, manifesting as the lack of melanin in a life form, resulting in their overall white appearance.
- Depending on the eye color however, it could be a reference to leucism instead, a partial loss of pigmentation, which does not affect the eye color of the life form.
- His in-game model in GX is the 10th shortest when lined up with all other pilots. If the models are consistent in terms of height, this would make Beastman the second shortest adult humanoid in the game.
- However, since no official height chart was ever released for any F-Zero media, it is unknown what Beastman's height would be.
