Od is a backstory character in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. He is one of the Twelve Crusaders, possesses the title of Sword Saint, is the original wielder of the Balmung, and is the founder of the country of Isaach.
Etymology
Odo is a possible corruption of Óðr, a figure from Norse mythology. Od is an anglicized interpretation of Óð, another name for Óðr.
Alternatively, it can also come from "Odic force," which is also called Od.
Trivia
- By the end of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, Od will have more known living descendants with Major Holy Blood than Minor Holy Blood. If Chulainn marries Ayra, then all of his known living descendants will have Major Holy blood.
