Terrestrius, better known as Terry,[5] is an Earthblood Elf originating from the Uncharted Forest.[6] He was in a relationship with Claudia[5] before they broke up over the use of dark magic and Aaravos's motivation, although Terry nonetheless continued to hold romantic feelings for her, promising he would always love her.[7]
Appearance
Terry is a slim Earthblood Elf with brown skin and white, swirled markings stretching across his chest. His ears are long and are tilted upward, while his upward-curved horns are black with light green tips. Keeping it short and flowing towards the back of his head, his thick, green hair is brushed over sideways from the right side of his head while strands frame his face. Thick in nature, his eyebrows match his hair in color, while his slim eyes are colored in a shade of brown. Terry's clothing of choice consists of a brown leather binder with long sleeves, topped by a lightly colored shirt decorated with symbols resembling his markings. A leather shoulder protection is attached to his right shoulder and connected to his chest piece. A dark green pair of pants is kept in place by a belt of vines with leaves attached to it, while his feet are covered by brown shoes, also adorned with leaves. Additionally, he wears a pair of glasses crafted from branches, and bandages around his ankles.
Personality
Terry is a friendly individual who is somewhat awkward and balances his own nervousness through excessive talking.[5] Even in regards to dark magic, he is uniquely non-judgmental while also possessing a deep sense of right or wrong, goodness, kindness, and truth, and what they mean in the big picture of life.[8] Despite not seemingly disapproving of dark magic, as he can forgive dark deeds if they are done for the sake of a purpose, he does not support emotional cruelty,[9] and was haunted by the realization that he had taken a life,[10] even if it served to protect someone he loved.[11]
Terry holds a sadness in him, stemming from having faced discrimination in his past due to knowing that he was a man despite being born in a body that others saw as female. He is empathetic and tries to reach out to others because of this, wanting to embrace and be embraced by people. Although he knows to overthink and that he can be perceived as weird, Terry refuses to feel any less than necessary to be himself.[6]
Despite what Terry has been willing to do for the sake of his loved ones, he is not without a moral compass. Upon learning that Aaravos's motivation is to avenge his beloved daughter Leola, Terry attempts to discourage Claudia from helping the Startouch Elf so she will not choose to live a life of malice and violence.[12]
Terry's nonjudgmental nature does have its limits, though. After seeing Aaravos casually kill a mother Shimmercrow, he refused to continue along with the plans of the Fallen Star[7] and took responsibility for caring for the two orphaned birds, displaying his deeply rooted sense of justice and compassion. This inner kindness and compassion is Terry's defining strength, showing just how powerful he truly is and that he is a man of principles and conviction, making painful choices to do what he knows is right in the face of the direct and indirect consequences of his actions. Despite his breakup with Claudia, however, Terry told her that he would always love her and refused to provide her enemies with information until they took an oath not to harm Claudia.[2]
Skills and Abilities
Earth Primal Connection
![]() |
As an Earthblood Elf, Terry draws power from the Earth and is at his strongest deep underground or in the heart of a forest. He can enter a state in which his skin turns gray and is crawling with glowing green cracks and has glowing green eyes, in which he can cast Earth magic. This state makes him able to commune with plants and persuade them to follow his instructions, but states that he does not necessarily control them, merely maintaining a strong relationship with plants.[13] With this ability, he is able to summon vines to restrain his targets, with even someone as strong Soren being unable to break out on his own.[9] He can also use this ability to make wood lash and weave together, create a wooden prosthetic leg,[14] and make vines form protective barriers before sprouting lavenders.[15]
Knowledge
Terry is a well-learned individual, being highly knowledgeable in a variety of practices and fields, including aroma therapy, construction, and even biomechanics. This can be seen in his application of use of aroma therapy to calm Claudia when she was fretting over her father's fate following Viren's decision to abandon the journey to free Aaravos. His skill in construction is demonstrated in his ability to create a functional boat from plant life, and his understanding of biomechanics in his ability to design Claudia's prosthetic leg to properly match her size, stride, and range of motion, proving how intelligent and perceptive he can be.
