"Dog Proof" is the first segment of the ninety-fourth episode of Big City Greens.
Synopsis
Cricket is caught eating dog food by Gloria and must stop her from revealing his secret shame.
Plot
The Greens and Gloria are sitting around the table where they have successfully finished off their pizza dinner. Unfortunately, Phoenix refuses to eat her new healthy dog food that Bill bought for her. Cricket offers to help get her to eat it, "even if it takes all night." By morning, Phoenix still hasn't eaten and Cricket finds himself unable to trick her into doing so. With no other option, Cricket decides to eat the food himself to proves his point. To his surprise, it tastes good and he and Phoenix eat it together. Gloria walks in and films Cricket on her phone, telling him that she plans to share it. Cricket, horrified, tries to find a way to get rid of the video.
Elsewhere, Bill, Tilly, and Gramma Alice attend a painting studio taught by the fittingly named Michael Angelo. As they paint, Bill is excited when Michael tells him that he made a "unique piece of art". Feeling empowered, he calls his friend Doug Perkins to tell him that, only to learn that he says that to everyone, making him feel dejected. After Cricket fails to get Gloria's phone, he is inspired by Vasquez to find something that Gloria keeps cherished and to blackmail her over it. After acquiring her diary, he sees Gloria and Jade laughing over a video and assumes that it is of him, convincing him to have Vasquez read from Gloria's diary in the café.
Bill ultimately comes to the conclusion that he does not need validation from someone else to appreciate his art and makes an abstract painting, which is lauded by everyone. Cricket confronts Gloria over the video, but she reveals that she was showing Jade something else, much to his embarrassment. Vasquez reads from the diary, but Gloria stops him herself, showing that she has no fear about being embarrassed. Cricket decides to show everyone the video, causing people in the café to come clean about their insecurities. Gloria thanks Cricket for understanding and apologizes for the video, but threatens him about rummaging through her diary again.
