"Boss Life" is the first segment of the sixty-second episode of Big City Greens.
Synopsis
Gloria tries to maintain her café's perfect rating.
Plot
Gloria + Green Café is doing well as Bill and Gramma Alice congratulate Gloria on her business. Cricket pats himself on the back, believing that seeing as how Alice partially owns the café, that means that he must be important to some degree. Gloria tells him that being a boss is not easy and that it is difficult for her to run the place sometimes, though Cricket throws caution to the wind. Gloria gets a perfect A rating from Alexander who marvels at Tilly as the musical entertainment, but when Gloria sees that she got a B rating from someone she panics. Alice tells her not to fret, until she realizes that people actually read reviews and hunt down the rater: Community Sue.
Gloria absent mindedly places Cricket in charge as he enjoys the perks of being a boss and has Tilly play a different tune, upsetting Alexander who tries to understand it. Cricket soon hires Remy, but he does not know how to work the coffee machine. Not wanting to actually train people, Cricket hires the rest of his friends while Angelina begs for coffee. He then decides to change tactics by simply having every problem refer to the next employee; getting nothing done. Meanwhile, Gloria and Alice confront Sue who explains that she gave a fair rating (the crepes were too spongey) and that she stands by it. Gloria decides to challenge her again by making a special crepe just for her, to which she agrees.
Gloria makes a new crepe, but Sue tells her that it is still too spongey. As Gloria wallows and Alice considers leaving, Sue tells the two of them as she was giving constructive criticism and that there is always room for improvement. Believing that she is adding too much flour, Gloria makes another crepe and this time it is better, earning an A-. Despite Alice's disappointment, Gloria accepts it. Upon entering the café, Gloria sees her ratings tumble. Cricket apologizes after realizing that he messed things up and Gloria forgives him by having him clean up the mess. As she gets rid of the kids, Angelina, still waiting, begs to get her coffee.
