"I don't care, as long as they hunt you down!"
Selby is a member of the Shadows.
Biography
Selby and her brother, Daran, were recruited into the Shadows sometime in the 1270s. Daran told her that she could make her mark in the field, despite her not being much of a fighter. Selby cared deeply about the people of Westmarch, and wanted to help them.[1]
Not long after joining, Selby and a group of Shadows headed for Ashwold Cemetery to take Immortal weapons. They came across a Necromancer named Harvine who strolled in and killed the Immortals, along with the Shadows, Selby included. Her spirit lingered in the area after death, tormented by the spirits of her fellow Shadows in a runic circle. Harvine told Selby that her soul wasn't strong enough for her aims, and departed.[1]
Selby was later located by the Shard-seeker. The Shard-seeker didn't want to make things worse by tampering with the circle, and Selby told her what Harvine had said. She suggested that Harvine might have gone to one of the cemetery's larger tombs. The Shard-seeker departed, but afterwards, Harvine came back to the Immortal hideout. Harvine taunted Selby until the Shard-seeker arrived. The Shard-seeker gained the upperhand as they engaged in battle, but Harvine drained the essence of the souls she'd imprisoned to empower herself. Selby possessed Harvine, and while not able to take full control, it was enough to allow the Shard-seeker to gain victory.[1]
After Harvine's death, Selby, still in ethereal form, emerged from her corpse. Selby thanked the Shard-seeker before passing on. The Shard-seeker later related Selby's deeds to Daran.[1]
