In 1951, the tiny European democracy of Lorphah was the site of a military confrontation between invading Soviet armed forces versus the internationally reknowned Blackhawk Squadron.

In 1951 there were armed conflicts, military and otherwise, all across Central and Eastern and Southern Europe, with the famous Blackhawk Squadron participating in most of them. Joseph Stalin grew extremely weary of their opposition. A general in his air force assembled an elite squadron of crack pilots with advanced MiG fighters, and deployed them against the Blackhawks. Their confrontation took place at the small city/state of Lorphah, a democracy.
The hopelessly outmatched defense militia of Lorphah was commanded by Lady Ardis. The Red Raider and his squadron struck and destroyed civilian targets all over Lorphah, until the Blackhawk Squadron arrived. After that, the battle was much more evenly matched, with Blackhawk himself actually being shot down. Soviet tanks and infantry had also arrived, and the operation's commander, Red Raider, intended to shoot every man, woman, and child in Lorphah, whether the city surrendered or not.
That night, the Blackhawks set a trap for the Red Raider and his ground forces, then went on to defeat the individual members of his squadron. The following morning, forces from the United Democracies arrived and defeated the dictator's ground forces. The Red Raider ended up in the custody of Lady Ardis, and all of his elite pilots defected to the west.
