In 1953, the tiny European republic of Valnadia was the subject of a Russian-sponsored takeover attempt, which in turn was an elaborate trap for the internationally renowned paramilitary aviator Blackhawk. Both plots failed.
History
In the 1950s, the tiny European republic of Valnadia was endangered by a Russian-sponsored takeover attempt, seemingly staged by a long-dead Luftwaffe pilot, Hauptmann von Tepp. "Von Tepp" was actually a series of eight or more impersonators, specially trained and surgically sculpted to resemble the late German air ace, for the purpose of attracting Von Tepp's killer, the aviator known only as Blackhawk, to Valnadia. Blackhawk soon arrived and brought his team with him. Four of the fake von Tepps, one at a time, committed or attempted several ambitious crimes, and were killed by the Blackhawks, creating the illusion that von Tepp himself was returning again and again from the dead. Blackhawk deduced what was really going on, and he and his team cornered and captured the Red Army officer in charge of this operation, along with most or all of his agents.
