Even after World War II, Ramastan was a traditional monarchy, ruled by a Rajah.
History
In the mid-20th Century, in India and the Middle East and elsewhere, several historically hereditary monarchies managed to survive both world wars, remaining independent and retaining their original form of government. Among these were Badarstan, Chichiku, Kimrouk, Lashore, Ramastan, and Ughastan.
In 1951, Ramastan was the "Richest Native State in India." Its hereditary monarch, the Rajah of Ramastan was famously a friend of democracy, but believed himself to be suffering from a fatal illness. As was later revealed, he really suffered from boredom, hypochondria, and bad advice. His beautiful but evil daughter, Princess Sari, was collaborating with her uncle, Prime Minister Radasi, and a foreign national sponsor, in an elaborate scheme to have the Rajah deposed, and herself married to Blackhawk, in order to get started on a program of international conquest. Involving Blackhawk in their scheme proved to be a mistake, and the plotters were exposed and arrested.
