Maria is an average-sized female human child with long brown hair which she usually wears down. She has brown eyes.
In the Cool Cat books Maria is portrayed as white, but in the films she appears to be of Hispanic descent.

Biography
Maria is one of Cool Cat's best friends and attends the same school as him, even helping him run for school president in Cool Cat Saves the Kids. Maria and Cool Cat are portrayed as being very close and good friends. Cool Cat Saves the Kids also reveals that Maria has a grandma, though she is never seen on-screen.
Maria is often bullied, usually by Butch the Bully who says that she is ugly and has "rat hair" in Cool Cat Saves the Kids. In the same film and the Cool Cat Stops a Bullying short film, she recounts a story about how a bully posted false information about her on the internet to Cool Cat, Erik Estrada and Vivica A. Fox.
