"Cool Cat's a real hero for the kids! And he's so cool!!" ― Beaver in Cool Cat vs Dirty Dog 'The Virus Wars'

Beaver is a character in the Cool Cat Cinematic Universe. He is the sidekick to the series' main antagonist Dirty Dog, though Beaver actually thinks Dirty Dog stinks and would much rather be helping Cool Cat instead. Beaver is voiced by Derek Savage.

He debuts in the feature-film Cool Cat vs Dirty Dog 'The Virus Wars'.

Appearance

Beaver, as his name would heavily suggest, is a beaver. Unlike other notable animals in the franchise like Cool Cat and Dirty Dog however, Beaver is not portrayed with the usage of a fursuit to give the impression of an anthropomorphic animal, but is instead represented as an anatomically accurate beaver stuffed animal operated as if it were a puppet.

Beaver has brown and tan fur, small black eyes, a black nose and tiny rounded ears. His most distinguishable feature is probably his large pearly white buck-teeth.

Conception

Beaver was originally announced by Derek Savage on the Cool Cat YouTube channel to debut in the upcoming feature-film Cool Cat Stops a School Shooting. Derek described the character as "Dirty Dog's slave", and also stated that he was really fun to write.

Several years later on June 18, 2022, it was announced that Beaver would instead debut in the upcoming film Cool Cat vs Dirty Dog 'The Virus Wars'^[1], then-known as Cool Cat vs Dirty Dog Unleashed. His role in the franchise appears to be the same as before, except he is now referred to as Dirty Dog's "prisoner" as opposed to his "slave". This was likely done to avoid the implication of Dirty Dog being a slaveowner. In the same announcement, Derek also gave a first look at the appearance of Beaver.

The first behind-the-scenes look at Beaver in 'The Virus Wars' was revealed on July 25, 2023.^[2] The first clip of Beaver in the movie was released on November 7, the same year.^[3] In the clip, Beaver thanks Cool Cat for saving the world from Dirty Dog and gushes over how cool Cool Cat is.

Biography

Much like pretty much every other Cool Cat character, not much is known about Beaver's background besides the fact that at some point Dirty Dog adopted him as his personal slave and sidekick.
