Cool Cat

"I'm Cool Cat and I love ALL kids!" - Cool Cat

Cool Cat is an anthropomorphic cat, crimefighter and self-proclaimed "kids superhero".

Cool Cat is the protagonist and central character of the Cool Cat franchise of children's books and films created by Derek Savage. He is perhaps best known as the protagonist of the infamous 2015 direct-to-DVD children's film Cool Cat Saves the Kids, as well as its subsequent follow-ups and predecessors.

Inside the Cool Cat Cinematic Universe, Cool Cat was played and voiced by American actor Jason Johnson from Cool Cat Stops Bullying in 2012 to Cool Cat Kids Superhero in 2018. Jason would later cut ties with Derek Savage and depart from the role. Derek himself has been providing the voice of Cool Cat since Cool Cat's Crazy Dream in 2019. Cool Cat's physical bodysuit has been worn by various freelance actors ever since.

It is likely that Cool Cat is mentally insane, though a proper medical diagnosis has yet to be released.

Design

Cool Cat is an anthropomorphic cat with orange fur. He has large eyes with blue pupils, a black nose, black eyebrows and an orange tail. He is generally seen wearing one of various short-sleeved shirts (usually with his name written on) and shorts. He also wears no shoes.

Cool Cat is generally implied to be a child, going to school and all, but he is the same height as the average adult and is legally permitted to drive a car. Considering his catchphrase "I'm Cool Cat and I love all kids", among other evidence (including knowing what porn is)[1], it is likely that Cool Cat is actually a pedophile.[2]

Personality

As his name would imply, Cool Cat is supposedly the coolest cat around. He is diligent, honest and supposedly always trying to do the right thing (such as attempting stop bullying). Despite that, he is often a huge hypocrite and harasses people when things don’t go his way. He repeats the same behavior with bullies and internet trolls, unaware of the fact that he’s giving them exactly what they want.

Despite his positive demeanor, Cool Cat sometimes get his morals confused, such as when he is telling a group of kids to always look both ways when crossing a street before immediately blindly darting across the same street himself, or in Cool Cat Fights Coronavirus where he admits to forgetting to wear his face mask in the middle of a global pandemic. However, Cool Cat is loved by all the kids in the neighborhood, and he loves all the kids back.

Cool Cat is also shown to be a massive narcissist, with his bedroom being plastered with posters with his face on. His face can also be found around his house too.

Cool Cat is rumored to possibly be a child molester or even a pedophile. Evidence to these claims include a quote where he says "I love all kids", the fact that he often teaches the wrong messages such as encouraging kids to open messages from strangers and that he is actually an adult pretending to be a child. The answers to these claims however are currently unconfirmed.

Conception

Cool Cat was originally created by Derek Savage as a childhood imaginary friend for himself, due to constantly being bullied as a kid.

When Savage began writing novels and screenplays, he decided to delve into writing children's books. Thus, the Cool Cat character was revived and later adapted for film.

Alleged Plagiarism

Though Derek claims that Cool Cat is his own creation, Cool Cat is also the name of another orange feline character from the Looney Tunes franchise, who first appeared in a short simply titled Cool Cat in 1967. He was the final star of the original Warner Bros theatrical cartoons, and his design was based on that of a Bengal Tiger. The two characters have similar personalities. both being very cool. Savage denies having plagiarised the character - however he admits to being in possession of a mug that had the Looney Tunes character on it.

History

Early Life

Not much is known about Cool Cat's upbringing, besides the fact that his parents are Daddy Derek and Momma Cat. Due to Cool Cat attending the local middle school, it is implied that he is around 12 years old.

In an interview on The Trevor Moore Show, Derek Savage stated that the opening scene of the upcoming feature film Cool Cat Stops a School Shooting will supposedly explain how Cool Cat and Daddy Derek met in what Derek describes as a "war scene".[3]

Cool Cat's best friend is Maria, and his enemies are Butch the Bully and Dirty Dog. Though it’s rumored that he and Maria are more than just "friends" although this information is currently unconfirmed.

Cool Cat decides to run for school president, a decision supported by his parents and friends. While designing posters with his friend Maria, the local bully Butch began terrorizing them by sending them mean texts and prank calls.

After Butch runs away, Cool Cat confronts his nearby posse, eventually convincing them to stop following Butch and to stop bullying. Later that afternoon, Butch harasses Cool Cat by sending him mean emails. Instead of being sensible and blocking Butch, Cool Cat shoots back with an email accusing Butch of having no friends.

That evening, Cool Cat takes LSD and has a nightmare about Butch bullying him, however Cool Cat decides to stand up for himself the next time Butch bullies him. The next day, him and Daddy Derek visit the Hollywood parade, which contains several cars from pop culture (such as K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider and the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters).

The next day, Cool Cat along with Maria, visits Erik Estrada and Vivica A Fox. They decide to build a sand castle and shortly after, Erik spots Butch strolling onto their private property to bully Cool Cat. After Butch destroys their sandcastle, Vivica gives them a lesson on how to stand up to bullies, inspiring Cool Cat. Butch returns, but Cool Cat stands up to him and manages to make Butch run away.

The next day, Cool Cat learns about a writing contest with a grand prize of $100. Cool Cat then begins writing his magnum opus Trolly the Trout.

The following afternoon, Cool Cat learns that Butch has been stealing candy from babies. Outraged, Cool Cat chases Butch down the street. Butch runs into a police car and is arrested by an officer. However, he is soon released due to lack of evidence (Butch had eaten all the candy).

The next day, Cool Cat and his friends find a gun in the grass. They decide to tell Cool Cat's Daddy Derek about it, but Butch steals the gun and plans to extort students out of their lunch money at school.

Daddy Derek learns of Butch's plans and calls his parents, who refuse to believe him. He then escorts Cool Cat and his friends to the school the next day. They see Butch showing off the gun to a friend. A police officer arrives at the scene and arrests Butch once again.

With Butch defeated, Cool Cat is now free from his bullying. His campaign for school president is a success, and he also wins the writing contest, winning $100.

Cool Cat Fights Coronavirus

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Cool Cat attempts to lecture his new friends Angela and Britney on how to stay safe from his virus. Despite his efforts, Cool Cat's efforts are muddled and he forgets to practice his own preachings of social-distancing and wearing a mask.

Meanwhile, Cool Cat's new arch-nemesis Dirty Dog is up to no good. With the help of his mother Witch Dog, he plans use enlarged COVID balls to infect every child with the virus. Luckily, Cool Cat is able to stop him, once again saving the kids.
