Activated Ability - Massive Burst of Spiked Balls that bounce off the screen borders
~ BSM2 Flash description

Spikey Chaos is the Dart core epic power upgrade in Bloons Super Monkey 2. When activated, it unleashes a flurry of 12 spiked balls at a rapid rate for a brief time (1s flash, 2s mobile). The main difference between the normal core's spike balls and the spikey chaos spike balls is that spiked balls last much longer and can now bounce off the edge of the screen. They can't pop Lead Bloons but are an excellent all rounder ability that requires little in the way of preplanning.

It costs 17,000 on Flash and 340,000 on Mobile.

Strategy

Spikey Chaos is lethal at cleaning up bloons with little in the way of preplanning. The sheer quantity of projectiles that persist for a long time can easily clean up most bloons. The projectiles moving all across the screen is both a strength and a weakness, however. When compared to Lightning Trail, it lacks the ability to concentrate power in the most crucial spots, and unlike Lightning Trail, it cannot pop lead or (on mobile) frozen bloons, in addition to being unable to pierce through Shielded Bloons.

Spikey Chaos is better overall in Flash than on Mobile due to child bloons floating to the very top of the screen, alongside the lack of the Hotter Cooldowns powerup and second monkey playing in Spikey Chaos's favor. If opting to use Spikey Chaos, it is best used as a spray and pray option against swarms of bloons. It will struggle against fast moving shielded bloons due to shielded bloons deleting all of a projectile's pierce upon contact.
