~ Version 48.0 Description |
Spa Pits is a Beginner Map in Bloons TD 6 released in Version 48.0, alongside the Mega Massive Munitions Factory, the MOAB Test Bloon, Adora's She-Ra skin, and Sword of Protection.
Overview
A relaxing area full of stony concrete and circular pools of water. There are several rocks with black entrances, and the bloons come out of the upper left entrance. Most of these rock entrances are unused unless this map's secret is activated.
On a standard map, Bloons will emerge out of the upper left cave. They will proceed clockwise over the upper half of the upper left pool before moving along the bottom half of the central pool, turning then onto the right half of the bottom right pool. After completing a full loop of the bottom right pool the bloons will move onto the right half of the central pool, proceeding to the left half of the top-most pool and completing a full turn before moving onto the left half of the central pool down to the bottom right pool, starting from the right half and completing a clockwise loop. Bloons exiting will then move across the bottom half of the central pool up to the upper half of the upper right pool, completing a clockwise turn before proceeding to the top half of the central pool, moving to the bottom half of the upper left pool and exiting from the same entrance as the start.
In short, Bloons will move across each loop in the following order: upper left, bottom right, top-most, bottom left, upper right, upper left.
Easter Egg

There is an Easter egg on this map that changes this map's appearance and track to resemble the map Tar Pits from Bloons TD 5. On the four other rocks other than the ones Bloons exit from, there are claw marks; clicking each of them once and finishing with the bottom-right rock with four claw marks will display a prompt to 'make [the] map heaps harder'.

If completed, Spa Pits becomes Tar Pits; its watery pools become thick tar pits that forbid tower placement and forcibly sell towers that were on the water. Red lava-like cracks will form in the background, and the central track will cease functioning as a track, instead appearing as a small sloped wall.
The track is changed into five lanes, each very short and looping around one tar pit. Tar Pits can only be activated on the first round of a game, and can be activated on Co-Op.
The extra tracks is the reason why Pre-Game Prep spawns 5 piles of spikes and not 1.
Sauda's Sword Charge does not count the extra tracks during the easier Spa Pits variant, but does count the new tracks when the map switches to Tar Pits.

Strategy (Spa Pits)
Summary (Spa Pits)
Spa Pits is one of the easier maps, particularly if using a water-specific strategy, due to its long length and various loops. However, there's not much space for strategies that focus on compressing lots of towers, which impacts Village-focused strategies in particular (including Monkeyopolis farming).
Tips (Spa Pits)
- It's a very long map with good water coverage, but strategies involving spamming towers like Poplust and Shinobi Tactics stacking would not be particularly useful since there aren't many landmasses to put all towers. Instead, try to rely on strategies involving fewer towers.
- Bloontonium Reactor is very recommended for decamo on this map
- Heroes like Admiral Brickell can be useful during CHIMPS and in normal runs alongside with Monkey Subs (Energizer, Pre-Emptive and Sub Commander) as there is plentiful of water nearby, Mermonkeys are also allowed to boost their performance in the water.
- Rosalia can be used in land in nearby water so she can level up faster with the Energizer alongside with Heli Pilots and Monkey Aces.
Strategy (Tar Pits)
Summary (Tar Pits)
TBA
Tips (Tar Pits)
- CHIMPS R6-10 is doable with either $700 starting cash for two Subs, or (with mods) +4 Sub range. Either way, it's literally impossible in normal CHIMPS.

Trivia
- Spa Pits is the new third longest map currently in Bloons TD 6 at 57 R.B.S., beating the previous third longest map, Resort.
- This map is the first one to feature an Extreme Map in the past. If activated using the Easter Egg, this map turns into the first shortest map, turning this Beginner map into an EXTREME Map, making the single long lane path into five short multi-lane paths.
- As of April 20, 2024, there is currently no known strategy to clear the map in CHIMPS if Tar Pits mode is activated.
- The name of the achievement acquired when beating Tar Pits mode NAPSFRILLS style, "Nah, I'd win," is a reference to the anime Jujutsu Kaisen character Satoru Gojo, when asked if he expects to lose during the future showdown with Sukuna, another character from the anime. It was then seen by modern-day culture and became a meme.
