The Psyclown[AP 1] was a machine used by Zombozo to drain the happiness of his victims.
Appearance
The Psyclown was a towering machine made out of dull-brown metals. It stood on three legs, and had a tether extending out from its front. On top of the Psyclown were several diverging pipes bellowing steam. It had five glass-like blue orbs on its front, which contained the drained energy.
Functions
The Psyclown drained people of their positive energy, such as their happiness and laughter. This energy would be drawn out from victims in a ghastly, soul-like form and be instantly drawn to the machine, "like a sponge in a pool party".[1] Their energy now trapped in the machine, victims would leave Zombozo's show in a long daze of weak, facetious laughter, before ultimately falling into a deep depression.[2]
The Psyclown's cable tether could connect directly into a socket on the back of Zombozo's jacket, and Zombozo could control the cable psionically. He could use it to fly around, accentuate his movements, and even involuntarily yank himself backward when scared. The tether is also what likely allowed Zombozo to access the souls from the machine and "feed" on them.[2]
The collected souls could also be visibly contained in the blue orbs on Zombozo's suit and top hat.[2]
History
Ben 10
Prior to Last Laugh, Zombozo and his circus freaks had visited multiple small towns, robbing its people of both their positive energy and valuables.[2]
In Last Laugh, Zombozo used the Psyclown to drain various people during a show in the town the Tennysons were visiting, including Max and Gwen. After Ben disposed of the freaks and got tormented with illusions by Zombozo, the man interfaced with the Psyclown, explaining his plot to keep touring his show to bigger and bigger cities, sapping more people of their energy to make himself stronger. Ben fought the tethered Zombozo as Ghostfreak, eventually punching him into one of the machine's orbs, causing it to explode and for all the trapped souls to return to their original owners in a big wave of energy.
