Corrodium[pop-up 1][1] is a purple, glowing mineral with mutagenic properties.
Appearance
Corrodium is a crystalline-based substance and glows a purplish color.
History
Background
Thep Khufans are the only beings who can handle Corrodium without special protection.[pop-up 1][1]
Corrodium is not naturally found on Earth. The samples found in Under Wraps are speculated to have come to Earth as part of a meteor a few thousand years earlier.[2][3]
Ben 10
In Be Afraid of the Dark, the entire population of Earth was briefly mutated by Corrodium thanks to Zs'Skayr's plans of attempting to take it over.
Powers and Abilities
Corrodium can be used to generate ample supplies of energy, but exposure to that same energy has a drastic mutative effect on many organisms.
Humans and other Earth-native species are particularly susceptible to mutation from the crystal, with their bodies being warped beyond recognition and their minds being corrupted to hostility at anything that moves. The mutagenic effects are temporary, though prolonged exposure to Corrodium would make the mutations permanent. The exposure to Corrodium can be negated with proper protection like Level 10 Hazmat suits. Transforming into an alien with an active Omnitrix shields the user from Corrodium.

Trivia
- Corrodium is largely found in the Anur System, especially on Anur Khufos.
- The combination of Corrodium's power and danger make it extremely rare and valuable throughout the galaxy.[pop-up 2][1]
- There were no plans to feature Corrodium in Omniverse, as the crew never considered doing another plotline involving the substance.[DJW 1]
