Abilities in Among Us are game mechanics that enable players to interact with the map and access information about other players. Some abilities are restricted to specific roles, while others are accessible to all players.
Overview
Abilities appear as large buttons in the bottom-right corner of players’ screens, each serving a specific purpose. By default, all players have access to the “Use” and “Report” buttons. However, when standing near security systems like the Admin ability, the Use ability is replaced with the system’s appropriate ability.
Similar to assigned tasks with yellow outlines, certain abilities - such as Admin, Security, Doorlog, Vitals, and Customize - have white outlines. Conversely, abilities like vent and kill (which only appear when getting close to an interactive object or player) have red outlines, except for the Engineer and Hide n Seek Crewmate's vent ability, which has a light blue outline.
The Use button is positioned to the bottom right of the screen and becomes available whenever the player stands near an object they can interact with. The report button is positioned to the left of Use and becomes available near a dead body.
Extra roles (such as Scientist, Engineer, Guardian Angel, Shapeshifter, Tracker, Noisemaker, and Phantom) gain access to an additional unique ability that is positioned to the left of Report. Impostor players gain access to three extra abilities (kill, Sabotage, and vent) which are positioned above Use, Report, and any extra role ability.
